So my old 1993 F-150 truck is suffering from age and well, I think it maybe time to invest in something newer. I'm not looking for new but rather a used something. I don't need to haul water tanks.

I am considering an second generation Ford Windstar, would this be a good rig for a mobile detailer?

:thx

Get a Chevy Astro van the 4.3L is bullet proof. They have no problem reaching 250k miles or more. And there not like a soccer mom van there a truck van manvan lol

what about the new ford transit, I think that is what its called.

Cheers,
GREG

I'd like something that gets better mpg.

mpg isn't that much better with minivans.

1999
Ford F-150
extended cab XLT V8: 15mpg overall

2001
Ford Windstar, Freestar
SE Sport V6: 17mpg overall

so in this fairly typical Consumer Reports review you see an extra 2mpg
Not worth the sacrifice (all that utility) that a pickup offers IMO.

i wanted to get a Chevy Astro myself . . . . . but they are v6's

I personally don't think you need anything more then a 4 banger for detailing especially if you're mobile and driving all over the creation.

would a enclosed trailer be out of the question? i've seen quite a few mobile detailers have these. although, it still doesn't solve the problem of mpg.....

but if you get a smaller vehicle, small SUV maybe, then a trailer, that might help?

Yes it is. I only have space for one car in the garage. The Windstar is about $5k
