Need help with scratch

Today as I was shoveling I accidentally scratched my car. I couldn't help my self and put on touch up paint with toothpick to fill in the deep scratch. It just snowed and its about 26 degrees here. Will the touch up paint dry correctly if its this cold? Should I remove the touch up paint with thinner and apply it when it gets warmer?

The first two pictures make it look like the scratch might be able to be removed by wetsanding a compounding. How deep is the scratch? Do you access to a heated garage where you can properly touchup, wetsand and polish it out?

No way it could of been buffed out. The scratch was real deep, it down to the primer. In those photos I already added a thing layer of touch up. This week I been busy helping family paint and the garage is filled with stuff now. I want to try sanding it down and buffing it out. Rich made a thread where he fixed someone keyed car, looked amazing.

Today I also found out my GG polisher is acting up. Might have to send it in to get it fixed. The backing plate does not sit flat, it wobbles on the polisher. Is there a way to tighten where the backing plate goes into?

Good idea filling in the scratch ASAP. May help corrosion from getting a foot-hold.

I wouldn't worry about removing your fill-in material as of yet...The weather might do it for you.

As Jon suggested:
For a longer lasting remedy...Do your scratch repair under 'better conditions'.
