Hi all,

I just recently got my hands on a brand new 2025 Mustang GT. I know that I need to protect it. I've been through a few ceramic coatings at this point, so I am not too worried about skill with application. With that said, i have moved, and the garages I had access to before are too far away now. The upside is that I have a large, covered carport, that the car can stay in indefinitely. I was hoping to get a flashy color but 10k off MSRP made it an easy decision. The plan is to do full paint prep, and polish with M302 from KCX.

I am looking for a coating that does a few things and am hoping folks with more experience can provide some suggestions.

1. Not be overly temperamental about application conditions. I plan to do this in spring, on a ~70 degree day, but I cant control temps or humidity beyond picking a good day.
2. Have a flash indicator that is visible on white paint, or be a coating that can be whipped off immediately
3. Make white paint pop.
4. handle Salt air / spray. I live very close to the Chesapeake Bay. Salt spray is a real thing when the winds kick up. I want a coating that is at least somewhat resistant to salt.

My list right now (not in order)

1. Gyeon one
2. ADS quartz
3. ADS Phobic

The thing about white paint is you won't be able to tell a difference regardless of the coating you use.

I have not used any of the V2 versions of the ADS coatings.

Phobic is a nice application and leaves a slicker finish. The only thing is you will have excess as it comes in a larger size.

Gyeon One is a wipe on wipe off coating. It does come in a 30ml and 50ml bottle. Leaves a smooth feeling finish. It is essentially the little brother to Pure.

Thanks for the input!

I do have to politely disagree about the coating not showing on white. Ive owned quite a few white cars and coated several. I am confident, i can tell the difference between something like ADS amplify, and something like Gyeon Wet Coat. Maybe it only applies to the Toppers.

No input from me but congrats on the new ride!

The color of your vehicle doesn't matter if it's clear coated.
I havent used any of the 3 that you've mentioned so I am of no further help.
Congrats on the new ride

Are there any that you would recommend? The only one I am not considering is CSL. I have it on my GTI and I dont love the hydrophobics.

Buy all three and apply them side by side. I am certain you won't be able to tell. I own a white vehicle and have used a few coatings on it and side by side there is no difference.

I recently applied Gyeon One, Cquartz Lite 2.0, CQuartz UK, ADS Phobic, Dquartz Go, Meguiar's M888 on a silver panel and they all look identical with none of them standing out. These light colors just don't have enough contrast to show any darkening from a coating that offers that. Could you tell the paint is coated? Sure you can. But that is about it.

A good coating to get your feet wet would be cerakote. The easiest to apply and remove

Maybe I should keep my focus on the Toppers then. Ive done side by side with A few toppers and I can (usually) tell them apart. Especially when Its an SIO2 topper compared to some other chemistry. If the Coating doesn't change much, might as well get whatever is easiest to apply, and spend my time choosing the best topper. I should throw out that my main focus is gloss, not any darkening properties. I want the Candy shell.

I think I am leaning towards phobic. I can apply like a coating on my Mustang and do the quicker sealant type application to top up protection on my GTI. I can also throw it on my truck. Just need to pick a point to apply when I know I can get to the other cars within a month or so.

I'm waiting for the Flash Gordon Signature Series coatings.

I thought you were going to remind Flash that OP isn’t a rookie. Lol.

The suggestion that OP could “get his feet wet” sort of implied that. Lol. J/k

I did manage to get high spots with CSL on my GTI. Not totally unfair. I definitely wont be doing this in high humidity.

That's been out for 5 years in April.
I have no intentions of selling to the public though

My bad. I ass u me d the op was new to all of this when he asked what coating works best on a particular color.
My apologies

Good. I think cerakote will send you a free sample if you ask. It should be enough to do the whole car.
If the paint looks decent (and is smooth) I wouldn't even bother polishing

Is it the

Platinum Rapid Ceramic Paint Sealant ?

I thought they had a glass bottle coating but im having trouble finding it.

Call and ask if they can send you a sample bottle (814) 834-3703 ·
I reached out and they wanted to know the name of my business. Makes sense. Unfortunately, I don't have a business.

Still thematically speaking, coating a muscle car with a Ceramic developed by a gun focused company would be cool as heck.

Probably a little late to the party...

As for seeing a coating flash on a white car I've found white to be really difficult, even when using indirect lighting which normally makes it easily visible on other colors.

I too have not used any of the coatings on the list since ADS Quartz is now on V2. V1 was a good coating, but not very easy to apply. Hopefully that has been improved. I have Gyeon Mohs EVO on our white pearl SUV and really like it.

I think I am going to go with ADS phobic. Let's me top up the protection on my GTI and get a base coat on the mustang. Supposedly very easy to apply.
