Hello and good afternoon everybody. recently had a nice gouge installed into one of the wheels on my Honda CRV. looks like I will need to use some touch up paint as the scrape is pretty deep. have been searching around to find a close match to the sliver color, without any success. hoping that Mike and rest of the gang here could lend me a hand if possible. I would rather not buy a new wheel as the rest of it is in great shape. the CRV is a 2009 and the wheels are the silver painted / clear coated ones.below is an exact pic of my wheels and the color of my car, from the Honda website. if I can find the color I need to match it then I can start figuring on how to repair it.

Hey Matt,
Any chance of finding somebody in your area that refurbishes wheels? You might be able to get it done for a reasonable cost.

Shane,

That is my second option. have not heard of anybody good by word of mouth. I do know a great body shop that I might have to see if they do it, could match the paint for me or refer me to somebody. wonder what the going rate would be ? if I were to do it I would need to wait until Spring as I do not have a garage.

Google "Wheel Repair" and your city and see what goes. That or hit the Salvage Sites/Junk Yards

I did check my area for wheel places and all that come up is tire shops. the other 3 wheels are perfect so it will be either buy a new wheel ( last option ) or fix it myself or find somebody in the area that can make it look like new again.

I would bet your better off doing the ebay/craiglist and find some for sale. The cost to have a shop do them is going to be pretty close to a new one and unless they are really good its not going to perfect match. Find a set of 4 and save the others for when you get other "installed" problems.

you really think it would cost that much to fix one gouge that is maybe 1in x 2 in one one spoke ? was thinking the body shop I know of that does great work might be able to fix them as they could primer, paint and clear the area but not sure if they do that. if they do not fix wheels they might be able to send me to somebody. I believe these wheels are at least $300 each new. this problem was not an install problem it was a rock ( hidden in a snow pile ) grabbing one spoke on my wheel problem . the guy who plowed the pile had the tip of this large rock well hidden. I park in this spot all the time and was careful as I know the rock is 6 inches past the edge of the asphalt. somehow this rock is now a lot closer to the asphalt that it was before the snow we had last week LOL !

I had this issue with the daughters Ford Escort. I found a Ford Escort site and asked the question which turned out to be Argent Silver and available on Ebay. You might look for a Honda site and do the same or do a search on their site.

Dave, I do belong to a honda site and found some info on Acura wheel color. did not see anything for the honda wheel color but I suppose posting it up might turn up some leads. looks like another good idea to add to the list. thanks for the input everybody , so far we have expanded my options :xyxthumbs: think my first option is to remove the keys from the guy who hit the rock ( that would be me LOL )

Call the tire shops in your area and ask them who does wheel refurbishing/repair they will know. I had a hard time finding wheel refinishers in my area on google as well.

There is bound to be atleast 1 person nearby who specializes in repairing wheels. Getting the wheel repaired/refurbished would be your best bet on fixing that.

let us know how it turns out and what works. I would like to know who does it for how much and how good it looks.

eBay via iPhone sucks but a referbed rim for $121 to your door was easy to find.

Will keep you all in the loop on how it goes and what I can find out. I have seen refurbished wheels and they are cheaper . think I saw the one you mentioned and it looked descent. the only this is the dang TPMS is not included, not sure what is involved with taking that off the old one. will have to place some calls this week and see what I can find out. will try to get a good pic this week of it , for a comparison , if it gets repaired.
