This post is all SHOW and no SHINE.....

I bought this 2007 Mega-cab last week. I'm interested to know what I should and shouldn't do w/ new paint. I've never purchased a new car/truck before, and I'd love to hear your recommendations.

I believe I know what to do w/ the interior, its only the exterior that I'm concerned about. This truck is too large to park in my garage, so it will be outside all the time.

I'm not going to use my Souveran wax on it, but I would like your thoughts on a wax that would hold up outside. It will be parked in a parking garage all day, and outside only on the weekends and when in use as intended.

For those diesel fans this is the 6.7L w/ 350 hp / 650 ft/lbs trq - 6 spd auto. transmission.

At least you got white!:) White will be much easier to take care of than a darker color. If you have swirls then I would remove them then just keep some Collinite 845 or Duragloss 105 on it. With proper washing technique you will be ok. That is a nice looking truck. Can us Dodge people get a short review on the interior space?

sweeeeeeeeet truck :D Congrats ;) I would love to drive a truck like that! Bet the diesel is angry :D A nice wax for white is souveran liquid wax!! Try that ;) And if you want to polish before, use pinnacle 360!!

Nice truck my friend! How about a nice layer of #16?

Bad picture but here's my friends 07' Black Cummins (Mega Cab also). Love it, his 03' Cummins was a good truck but everything from the leather to the way it drives on the new one is way better, funny considering its the same chassis, drives quite smoother. And the 6.7 Cummins rocks, very smooth and pretty damn fast stock now with the 6 speed auto (4 speed auto sucked before, he had a 6 speed manual on the 03'). The 03' was fully modded and f'n quick, hope these new engines with all their electronics don't make it too hard to mod.

opps forgot, parked outside, lookingto DG 105 topped with Collinite 915, bullet proof combo right there, with once a month spray of AW to keep fresh. Will look great on white, I know how big that truck is and like my friends Mega Cab he doesn't have the patience to detail it like you owuld on a normal suv or car.

Thanks for the suggestions....

Russecu- Do you want pics of the interior? The Mega Cab is huge.... its 20-inches longer than the competition. The rear seats have their own A/C vents and the seats recline 25-degrees. I've never owned a diesel, and test drove the new Ford and Chevy as well. Ultimately, it was the cab and acceleration that made me choose Dodge.

pirex- The diesel is angry.... This 2007.5 is not as rumbly as the 5.9L models. All of the emissions equipment has made it a much quieter engine.

P1et- I've also joined a Dodge Diesel Ram forum for tips and known issues. I really like it. I've put 1250 miles on it so far and I'm getting 17 mpg average between city/highway.... I hope it remains that good. Have you done any Banks/BullyDog/Edge mods to the ECU? Intake? Exhaust?

Surfer- I bought this truck to haul an 18-foot trailer w/ Yamaha Rhino and Grizzly on it. The 6 speed auto was a strong selling point because you can use that second overdrive when you're not hauling and get 20 or more MPG.

The only things I've done to my truck is taken the schoolbus muffler off (so I'm only running the cat now) and putting in the Amsoil air filter. I LOVE IT! Sounds a lot better, but not like a redneck in a small Texas town.

No pics necessary! Unless you want to post them. lol I was just wanting some feedback about the Megacab from real users. I have the regular quad cab now. I would be interested to know what your mileage will be after the break-in period is up. Whats the warranty on the heavy duty Cummins trucks from Dodge now?

The truck comes w/ 100K mile warranty. Don't know if that is a change or not. I've got 1,300 miles on it so far and I got 19.5 mpg w/ no trailer (highway and small towns) on my way to our property. Using tow/haul mode I got 15.9 mpg w/ my trailer traveling the same stretch home in the rain.
