OK guys, so I took delivery of my brand new seat ibiza FR a couple of weeks ago and as usual the dealership tried to talk me into getting the £300 option 3 year long lasting protection, pfft!
after a 5 minute back and forth discussion over the phone ](*,) , the dealership gave in and told the inspection and valeting team not to clean the car in anyway just to remove the wrapping and shipping stickers, safe to say they were true to their word and the car arrived in an absolute mess!
Considering the car had 5 miles on the clock when i got it, Mud, grit, tar spots, brake dust absolutely plagued the car, when I first seen it i really did have second thoughts about wanting the dealership to clean it for me! haha
I started by pressure washing the worst of it off and cleaning the alloys first, I used some autoglym acid free wheel cleaner for this along with a couple of boars hair brushes, wheel woolly and a long handled wheel brush that i bought from halfords for the arches, handy brush for 7 quid!
As for the paint work, I chose foaming with valet pro PH and a CYC foam lance, 2 bucket method with grit guards, meguiars microfibre mitt and some CG wash and clear to strip everything off it!

after a quick rinse off, it was apparent that a good claying was in order, for this i used Meguiars fine clay and some Autoglym shampoo and conditioner as lubricant. unfortunately i would have applied some ironX at this point, but i ran out.......note to self, order more stuff!

so, after spending the good part of an hour and a half claying, it was time to dry the car and pull it into the garage for further work, for this i usually like to spray my meguiars waffle weave towel with some detailing spray (for additional lubrication), fold into quarters and just slowly run the towel over the paint, working from top to bottom.
Once inside, i noticed that there were 1-2 large scratches about 6-8 inches in length on the bonnet, the roof, and front quarters, what the hell has been going on here?!
Did they drive the car through a load of overhanging branches just for the fun of it ??

Anyway, after a quick coffee I turned to my Meguiars G220, some M101 and of a microfibre cutting pad, I carried out a quick test spot on the roof and after about 8 passes the defect had gone, with my method working a treat i cracked on and took all 7 scratches out in about an hour.
At this point i took the chance to give the entire car a look over to see if i could see any lighter scratches or swirls, but everything was looking good
Happy with the results, i gave the whole car a spray down with some IPA mixed 1:1.
I applied some M7 glaze with a black foam finishing pad to the entire car, working about 6 section passes at a time the paint was really starting to come to life! i could see the metallic sparkling

At this point i was really getting excited to see what it looked like outdoors, i still had a fair amount of work to do, treat and protect the rubber and plastic trip and seal all the glass!
after another 2 hours or so treating all the plastics, rubber and honeycomb grill with Meguiars, an applicator pad and a small Q-tip (I'll never do that again haha!) I finally got around to sealing the glass with GYEON (excellent stuff for the money btw) The glass sealant was left to 'haze' for around 15 minutes before being buffed off.
Finally, i applied some M21 with G220 equipped with a freshly primed black finishing pad, for all the smaller sections of the car and alloys, i used multiple foam applicator pads, waited 20 mins, performed a successful swipe test to each panel and buffed with some brand new meguiars microfibre towels and my god, were the results amazing, the photos speak for themselves!
Tires were treated with Autoglym Professional Tyre Dressing applied using a curved foam block which i buy off eBay for a few quid, the dressing was left to dry for 10-15 mins and then gently wiped using a cheap workhorse towel
Arches were also wiped with the dressing and buffed off to darken the greyish looking plastic

I hope you have enjoyed my first write up here, Feedback is always welcome
