So I went out the other day and purchased a 2013 Kia Optima SX T-GDI. Like any car that comes from the dealership, it has swirls (although surprisingly few). I plan to do a one step polish and would like to top with GTECHNIQ EXO or OPT OPTI SEAL. The hitch is...the winter weather has settled in and with the temps remaining below 50, neither product will be able to be properly applied.

So here's my question...do I go through the process of properly correcting the paint and sealing with a sealant and a wax? Or should I simply prep the paint via clay and then simply seal with sealant or wax, then when the weather improves, take the steps necessary to correct the paint and top with GTECHNIQ EXO or OPT OPTI SEAL.

Thanks!

I bought a new car and I did the whole process of clay, Wolfgang paint clean, Wolfgang swril remover, Wolfgang paint sealant and topped it off with two coats of fusion, I also let the sealant cure for 12 hours before dropping the wax.

I wouldn't correct it. Wait until the weather is where it needs to be, then do your complete polish and seal. Give it a coat of wax or sealant to get it through the winter, then do what you need to do

+1

I wouldn't correct it until you can do the more permanent paint protection. Save that clear coat. Clay and seal will get you through the winter.
