A couple months ago, I bought a new 08 ford hybrid. I wanted to protect it from the start so I had a local car wash put a sealant on (Meguiar’s) for $100.00. I wasn’t impressed with the workmanship so I started researching how I could best protect my car.

I found AG and was so impressed with the amount of information on products and detail instructions that I’ve spent over $400.00 so far with no end in sight. I stripped and resealed my car with both Klasse’s and probably detail that car about every weak just for fun. The cleaner I get the paint the more imperfections I find and the surface is a little ruff in spots. Now I am going to clay and then would like to use the Porter Cable 7424.

My question to the detailers here is, what compound should I use with the Porter Cable 7424? The paint is dark and I can see no scuff marks. I want the best shine possible and from reading all the posts Menzerna seems to be the better choice. I also wish to seal it again with Klasse. Should I buy the Menzerna Porter Cable Maximum Shine Kit or a different combo?

Great forum by the Way!:righton:

IMO, youd be set using pretty much any polish here. But Menzerna and XMT seem to be the most popular. But Pinnacle Swirl Remover doesnt fall far behind. Like I said, youll be set either way.

:iagree: and since you said there are "no scuffs" you probably just need a finishing polish.

Sounds good,

I'll order the Menzerna Porter Cable Maximum Shine Kit today!

guys never grow out of wanting new toys, they just get more expensive as the years go by.

Menzerna Finishing Polish .... keep washing and drying correctly and its all you are to ever need.
