Hi. I just took delivery of a new 2016 Toyota Avalon LTD. It's Parisian Night Pearl. The body, paint seems to be great and smooth. So I'm thinking I won't clay it but I would like to hand wax it real soon. Which wax is best and or at least best for making the color pop?

Congrats on the new car.

Have you tried the baggy test to determine whether or not the paint needs to be clayed?

Making the color pop will be benefited from polishing. Not just a wax.

If it passes the baggie test, there's no need to clay it.

I clayed one of my cars yesterday -- first time I ever clayed a car. Used Mother's yellow clay with clean soapy water (from foam gun). I was surprised at how easy it was. And I also had a nightmare last night that I went out this morning and the claying scratched my car up, completely jacked up, all over the car with swirl marks, etc.

If in doubt, clay it. Doesn't take that long.
