Seems they are generating so many of the same product.. How many Wheel cleaners & Degreasers do they have now?

Man, who is running this company? Its like they're almost successful despite themselves. I'd love to know the difference (if any) between the 2 products above. Claims are almost identical (as well as price).

Don't get me wrong, I love some CG stuff. But why sell 4 or 5 different products that are virtually identical in their recommended uses, dilution, directions, and claims? I just don't get it.

I could see if it was a color changing wheel cleaner meant to go after iron. Same thing with the glass cleaner and degreaser. They already have many products that do that. If the new products are better, why not d/c the old ones ???

Don't get it. More confusion.

Weird
Odd.

Maybe they are aliens?

No idea lol but i still dont know why they havent made a dedicated tire cleaner yet. I mean yea they got other stuff that work on tires, but nothing specifically designed for tires. Weird.

It's stuff like this that keeps me from most CG products. I understand having a couple different versions of products, as none are AIO, but come on. At lease make it easy for us to figure out the differences in products. :nomore:

I love CG products, well some of them. What I've learned is find what I like from them, purchase a gallon and go. Their bulk prices rock if you like a product, V7 gallon is a great price IMO. But they do have a lot of overlap, at some point though they have to cut out old stuff to avoid what swanicyouth pointed out.

Almost looks like they're trying to go after Meguiar's Detailer Professional's Choice line...

I'm not sure if you asking this seriously or not. CG is a marketing organization, I'm not sure if they are wholly-owned, partially-owned, or simply a distributor for a very large auto chemical manufacturer. When they first appeared on the scene in 2005 or so, some of their product pictures on their website actually showed the parent/principal's packaging. They seem to have gotten a little more inventive since then, however, it's the reason that I never get too excited by them--they started as the internet marketing operation of a huge bulk/private label manufacturer.

I think a lot of it has to do with the videos they make on youtube.

That's too funny Bunky, it says Professional Grade Chemical Mfg. Co., I guess that's the previous name of Chemical Guys. I guess what's confusing is the parent name also appears on the label, I'm still not sure if they are a wholly-owned subsidiary as was suggested way back when.

There's another chemical company name at the bottom of the label that I can't quite make out...

I don't care who owns them, who makes the stuff, if its repackaged, if it re-labeled, if its re-bottled from 50 gallon drums, if its the same as Adam's or Smart Wax, if its made by Warner Chemical, or if Chemical Guys is Warner Chemical.

It just doesn't seem to make much sense to me to have so much product overlap; so many products priced similarly that do the same thing being sold under one brand. And, with the hyped up descriptions and marketing they use, its really tough to figure out the difference between many of the overlapped products, if there are any at all. Maybe it works as some type of marketing idea, who knows? I guess they are pretty successful sales wise.

I guess AG does have product overlap with Wolfgang, DP, BlackFire, and Pinnacle. But its done in a cohesive methodical way. Each line of has a mission, theme, and target - even if some claim some of the actual products are the same. If a few if the products are similar, most of them are not. I have a garage full of them so I should know.

I agree completely. While some of AG's products do overlap, and may even be the same (how different can Wolfgang and Blackfire pad cleaner/conditioner really be?), at least they're cohesive. You can choose to buy any one of the product lines and still have all of the products you need.

The funny thing is, WG and BF pad cleaners seem much different to me. That's a perfect example. The BF seems to work much better. And, the new WG one has a feature where you can spray your pads with it when they are dry to preserve them for next time. The BF one works so well, when I'm out of the BOGO bottles I plan to get a gallon of it. The WG one did nothing special for me.

I don't know if that works (WG - I have the product, but never used it that way), but at least there is a difference.
