Hey guys. I just got my new Gilmour Foam Gun in the mail today. I got the Multi-Ratio one with brass fittings. It definitely feels very solid. I was just wondering, from anyone who has used a foam gun, what is your normal soap to water ratio? I got the quart gun. I can also set the ratio on top, but still wondering how you guys actually fill the container. Thanks!

I usually set the ratio to the third whole on top then fill the canister 3/4 full of water first. I generally add 2 ounces of soap, screw it on and shake. Experiment with It. I went through all the settings and found this to be the most efficient for my needs.

The third setting huh? I'm guessing the different settings just mean more foam? The instructions really didn't specify. I'll definitely play around with it this weekend. I was just more curious on the ratio that the canister was filled with. I appreciate your response.

Yes the different settings will vary the amount of foam produced. When used as a presoak don't wet your car first, it helps the foam to cling a little longer. I also like to add a squirt of ONR to the wash bucket and canister to help soften the water.

Sweet. Thanks for the info man. Does your canister twist around where it connects to the squirter part?

I also just got myself a foam gun it came with the DP car wash soap free sample .First use i had it on three then put on two and added a little more soap. You have to expermint with it for sure .I think it also depends on how hard the water is were you live .So yes play around with it.I want to get a foam cannon also but don't feel like taking out the pressure washer every time.

Haha...yeah that would definitely become a pain in the butt.

Yes I have the autogeek one. It twists so you can shoot it at various angles. By yourself a quick disconnect, it will simplify things a lot. I suggested the ONR because I have hard water and it helps a lot.

Mine already has one I think. All I have to do is pull back on this black ring and the canister part comes off leaving only the squirt handle.

Yes, but adding an additional one from the hose end to the pistol grip will allow you to flood or spray super easy without unscrewing it all the time.

If You Want Great Foam, Add Some Inexpensive Kids Bubble
Mix To The Blend--trust Me, It Works Great.

OH OH....I see what you mean. Yeah I need to get one of those. Where did you pick yours up...like Wal-Mart or Home Depot?

fill with water first then soap, otherway and youll have to much foam and not enough fluid to presoak car.

I picked up the quick disconnect at Home Depot. All brass construction just like the one on the gun, I believe it was made by craftsman

Ok...I'll pick one up this weekend. Another thing I found interesting...as I was playing around with it, I was eating Funyons, and I noticed the instructions said that the brass parts contain lead and not to touch your mouth after touching the brass. Great...

Did the funyons taste like brass ???
