Hello! After months of lurking (all while purchasing and trying numerous products), I finally feel as if I can speak somewhat intelligently on here. I credit that to the many dedicated and experienced members.

Detailing is strictly a hobby for me but it's quickly turning into an obsession. I've owned numerous black vehicles over the years and always took pride in my ability to keep them looking good. I always told myself that if anyone could keep black looking good it was me.

The only difference is, since joining this forum, my definition of good has drastically changed. The reality is I had some meticulously waxed swirls. Rather than dwell on the 10+ years of poor techniques (and products) I look forward to learning more and hopefully making some meaningful contributions in the future.

Me too, both new to AG and from South Jersey- where in SJ are you?

I love that phrase. I think it describes about 70% of all the car you see at a car show... cool cars with meticulously waxed swirls.

Very good. LOL

You can't change the past but you can certainly steer the course for the future.

New here as well, lots to learn. But that's why we're here right? :)

Welcome to the forum. Maybe we can have a detailfeast at Rutt's Hut.:xyxthumbs:

Cool man, welcome. We were up from DC at Stone Harbor for summer vacation when the earthquake and hurricane hit. Tsunami warnings at the Jersey shore was never something I expected to experience. Of course nothing happened with the quake, but Irene sure slammed you guys hard, huh? I hope everyone's OK up there.

I have a lot of family in Ocean City. They had some minor flooding and beach erosion but never lost power. Areas further north (like Ocean and Monmouth County) had a lot more flooding. We were pretty fortunate. Sorry your vacation got interrupted.

Gloucester County... after 20+ inches of rain over two weeks, including the 10" in one day from Irene, my sump pump had a workout, but no damage. Some neighbors without pumps had about 5" of standing water in their crawls, but easily pumped out and no damage, so overall I would say no big deal..
