Hello,

Just joined the forum, although I've bought some things from the store here as well as used the forum for good ideas for awhile...so thought I should join in as there is only so much I can learn without being able to ask questions.

Unlike many of you (it seems), I'm not a car detailer. But I show a '57 Chevy that I just finished a frame-off restoration on last year. It has modern base coat / clear coat paint. I also have another '57 Chevy with a 30 year old lacquer paint job. So my experience and aim is not maintaining daily drivers...instead, it is keeping cars that aren't exposed to much looking top notch all the time, especially at outdoor shows, which proves tough with black when it is hot / sunny / dusty. When it comes to daily drivers...I just don't care. :)

So anyway, I'm looking forward to joining in here from time to time and always willing to help based on experiences I've had, although I can tell many of you have much more than I...

Thanks,
HRJ

Welcome aboard. I think pretty highly of Ky. You'll learn a ton of stuff here about any and all detail subjects. You'll also learn about the capital depreciation fund membership that seems to be part of hanging out here!

Hi and :welcome: to the AGO forum.

Hope you are a Wildcat Fan! :)
Got some pics of your vehicles you'd like to share?

Thanks.

Welcome Hot Rod Joe...........always good to see another fellow Kentuckian...........you better Bleed Blue !!!

Thanks for the warm welcome! :)

As far as the whole blue vs. red thing, I'm blue...but since I'm originally from Indiana and only been here 5 yrs, it's not exactly a bleeding blue thing...but Louisville is too "city" for me. ;) However, I'm heading there this weekend for the NSRA Nats...

Some pics of my '57s are attached. The Black & White is the one I just finished last year. I've been all over the place with it, polish-wise: Meguiar's NXT, Zaino Show Car Polish, Malco Imperial Paste Wax (Best so far...).

The dark green car is a one that I just bought last month with the old lacquer / kandy paint job. One pic is of me trying to bring it back to life via heavy buffing with 3M Perfect-It 05973...
