so, i JUST drove my lancer with all windows down comfortably for the very first time. (bought it right before winter)

I am 19, work full time, outgoing, nd i absolutely love driving nd photography, just bought myself my first dslr.

i am really new to detailing the exterior of a car. like getting all the swirl marks and whatnot out. using the right soap nd along with the waxing process of removing and applying, claying. i have been watching videos and all and i am ready to purchase a kit for myself.

i have tire shine, but if anyone recommends anything please share, but i am also on the hunt for a rim cleaner. the one i have sucks.

also, for classes. i am looking around to take detailing classes but i cannot find anything at all.i am near chicago nd willing to drive a little for 2 day class or so.
I see that there are online classes here but i am looking for in person kind of thing.

so, let me know! please lol, i hate seeing my car dirty lol

Welcome to AG! :welcome:

In regards to your products questions:
For a good rim cleaner, what I just started using and really like is the Detailer Pro Series wheel cleaner. Safe for all surfaces and does a great job. May still be a BOGO?

Also for Tire Shine, as of now I am using Meguiars Extreme Tire Shine. Works pretty good and stays well. Washed and detailed the fiancee's car on Sunday and her tires look like they were just cleaned and shined.

Happy Detailing!

Welcome to the insanity. lol.

what type of wheels do you have? painted, clear coated, bare metal etc.....I have Meg's APC+ that I use. it does the job and is safe. I never had an issue of it causing any damage. I usually have it at 4:1 dilution. i will admit for real bad wheels i have to agitate alot more than normal and do 1 section of wheel at a time. some people may not think this is the smartest thing but i have always just used an APC for wheels not a dedicated wheel cleaner. are you looking for products you can buy from local stores or products you have to order?

as for classes near us( i am in Batavia) i have not heard of any. but then again i have not really been looking for any either.

Thanks guys! =]

Does anyone reccomend any kits to me?

i deliver to the pier 1 imports in batavia every friday nd tuesday lol

As for the tire shine, i am using the extreme gel.

For my rims, i believe theyre alloy with some cheap paint on em, theyre the OEM Lancer GTS wheels.

if they are painted then use a good APC to clean them then treat them like you do your paint. apply a good sealant to help the cleaning in the future.

just guessing but i take it you like the real shiney tires?

Welcome. What kind of look do you want from a tire shine? Mothers Reflections tire care And Opti-bond both give a well dressed but not blingy look. Megs Endurance is nice, but it is a little too shiny for my taste.

I dont want it really shiny, not too much. I like the solid, clean look.

And everyone is talking about BOGO. I know that means buy one get one, but does that apply here? And where do i go to look at the available products that are on sale? When does this deal end?

Mike, if i lived in florida i would be there asap lol, but i am in chicago =\

Welcome to AGO! Go to the homepage and then look about halfway down on the left side and you will see the buy one get one tab. The bogo changes every other Friday and runs for two weeks. As for a kit I've always thought it was better to just build your own order. The kits I've looked at always left me with items I didnt want or need, or with too few options.
