McKee's 37 Sio2 Auto Wash 128 oz.


Stop worrying about water spots! Instead of washing your vehicle one panel at a time and then rinsing it off, wash the ENTIRE vehicle using Sio2 Auto Wash and THEN perform your last and final rinse. If this is as good as Hydro Blue then it will be another winner....
 
This has the noob in me intrigued. Wash car with Sio2 Auto Wash, rinse, apply Hydro Blue. Then just maintain with the Sio2 Auto Wash. Sounds good in theory. :)
 
I can't understand if it's a copy of Hydrofoam or Bathe+ or if it's just like reset and bathe which is why they are telling you follow up with hydroblue

I was just looking for a new soap. I've used all the usual suspects but you know how it goes with trying new things...

  • Can use in Direct Sunlight
  • Don't have to rinse immediately
  • Smells like watermelon
  • includes a bit of Sio2 for "brightness and strength of current paint coating(this one is interesting to me)

i will definitely give it a shot.

If you leave either of those on for too long or in direct sunlight you get some nasty streaking. With the way this soap is presented I would liken it more to just Bathe and Reset.
 
If this product has a similar amount of silica as does Bathe+ or Mystic Repel, which are around d 5%, this is going to be a nice bargain at $50 per gallon.

The test will be the incidence of streaking with dwell time.

The formula in the shampoo is what helps prevents spots. But when you rinse the shampoo off, won't the rinse water cause spots because the shampoo (and formula) is gone? I think I'm missing something here.

The idea is to let the soap dry on the paint.

If you wash one side, you normally rinse off the soap and go to the other side. Leaving water to dry on the paint. (Causing water spots)

So instead of rinsing off the soap solution you wash the entire vehicle before any rinsing.

After the entire car is washed. Depending on temp the soap may or not of dried on the paint. It is now time to rinse and then start your drying procedure.

I've been using Hydro Blue on both of my DD recently. After application of HB, I go until the cars need washing. I then either do a 2B wash or if it's just real light dirt, I'll do a waterless wash. I've noticed after I do a wash, my hydro blue no longer beads and sheds water as well after it's been wiped by hand. If I instead start using this as a maintenance wash, will the HB maintain it's beading properties better? Or does this wash still require reapplication of HB afterwards too?

Was gonna buy it Im sure it works great. At the end of the day its to expensive and I can't get my head around to spend 50.00 for carwash soap.

Just to make sure I understand things, after rinsing, if I don't dry it quick enough, it will still spot. Is that correct? Basically the drying of the shampoo on the paint will not cause it to spot but if I don't dry it quick enough after rinsing, I can still get spots.
 
Depending on temp is your answer. I would love to see this work at 2pm on a hot sunny day where the metal is at 150 degrees and no streaks.This is a wash solution with little silica in it.Its not a wash to prevent spotting.

Joe, are you saying that soap will not leave behind any spots or streaks if it is dried on paint? I find that a bit difficult to comprehend. If a QD is used while drying I can understand a little better but if you have a surface with dried soap residue, how do you get the residue off of the paint (and soap) if it has dried? I thought the objective is to try to keep everything wet as you're moving from panel to panel and then dry off all at once after a complete rinse.

I'm not defending the product or anything, but perhaps the market is different from what you provide or the traditional market approach to car maintenance. Perhaps the notion is that this is a one and done product that cleans and protects without the need for anything else.

If you have no coating and all you do is wash and protect, you spend $0.39 to $0.78 per wash to clean and protect your car. That's not bad.

Now, you can compare that to something like Gold Class and state that McKees is way over priced, but consider something as mundane as Griots, which is $40 per gallon nearly and Griots wash and wax, which is $50 per gallon nearly.

If you don't have to layer with Hydro Blue or any other topper, or if you're just maintaining and coating, $50 per gallon isn't outrageous... When compared to other industry standard soaps.

It's just more magic in a black bottle

Probably have a Sio2 primer and after coating polish next too that is revolutionary and ground breaking.

When you have a pitchman that doesn't disclose he works at and for mckees on each review and a company that sends out "samples" to the more positive well spoken and detailed reviewers you don't need betas your product is a hit instantly.

Then the threads when people have problems or questions they seem to be overlooked

Understand fully but I want more feedback with good results.The initial outlay of 50.00 on a new product without any feedback from a couple of guys isn't enough to persuade me to buy it now.Im really not in the maintenance sector washing cars for me its not worth my time.However I would consider buying it for personal use.Never buy a product that just introduced. Into the market its all hype in the beginning and Im sure you know that.mckees has great stuff but I wait for others to dive in and give us reviews.
