Hello Autogeek! , Joe Tavarez here from NYC’s Bronx boro. Even though it is my first time posting here, I have been visiting the forum for about three years now. I must say I am very grateful for the crazy amount of useful information the members provide, so let me start by saying thank you to all the members, you guys are wonderful! With that being said it was about time that I registered and be part of the group.
A little bit about me, I am 23 years old, married with three boys ages 4, 2 and newborn (yes started very early). I have a BA in Criminal Justice, was a part of the NYC Police Department (long story, maybe for another thread) and for a living I drive high end clientele around NYC in my late model Suburban where I provide my expertise in transportation and security, I am self-employed. I do security consulting for a lot of my clients for home , office and events. I have found a niche market where people need someone like me, someone they can trust, that can transport them, protect them, facilitate their outing all while being their professional friend. Most of my clients come from the corporate setting, so a lot of my day is driving them to meetings or to the airport. I could say I am doing pretty good for myself and the best has yet to come. And no I do not do Uber.
So for my detailing side of me: I have been taking care of my cars seriously for about 3 years now and I can say I am intermediate when it comes to paint care and correction. Since I have been making a living with a Black Chevy Suburban for about 4 years now, coupled with my OCD to always have my car clean for my clients, I have learned a lot and know a thing or two about taking care of the most difficult color to deal with. I think that a lot of my success in what I do has to do with how clean and different my car looks.
Sorry for making the intro kind of long but I’m super excited to participate on the forums and thanks again to all the members, I’ll see you guys around.
