Hi I'm New to this side, but not to detailing... i have been detailing for 2 years now, and i have seen and done many types of cars, types, and conditions of paint.... but i never worked on brand spanking new paint. I just got my car home from the paint shop. I now know that i need to wait at least a week before even touching anything on the car. My question is this after the paint is dry, what steps, and products should i use to make sure that my paint lasts a while, something that will give me a hard shell to protect the paint for years to come, So if anyone could post a step by step that would be greatly appreciated :):xyxthumbs:

Nothing really special to do to it, just keep doing the same thing you have been doing on all the other cars you detailed.

Are you planning on doing the wetsanding, compounding, and polishing too? or are you just looking to protect?

if you do a seach Mike Phillips did an interesting post on new paint. I believe it had 30 days in the title.

I might buff it a bit, but no wet sanding... Thanks for all the reply's :)
