New paint?

I know you're not supposed to wax new paint but I just had my bumper repainted a month ago and was wondering if I could use ultimate polish on it? I would think it would be ok because it wouldn't be sealing the paint but I wanted to make sure.

Talk to the guy who painted the bumper and ask what the airing out time is for the products he used.

Hi, I did not know I am not supposed to wax new paint!

I recently bought a dk blue 2012 with clear coat in early Jan. The car was on the lot since late October 2011. When is it OK to either:

1.Put a sealant on it, such as BF Crystal Seal Paint Sealant?

OR 2. To wax it with Collonite 845?

Generally speaking, when a panel or section is repainted by a reputable shop, wait 30 days before sealing and waxing.

Jim B. you can do whatever you would like to your new ride. Your car has cured of off- gassed for awhile now. I was always told to wait 90 days from when the paint was applied to wax.

Whew! It was going to be a little rough explaining to my wife that I made another $95+ order -- and then could not to use the products! Bobby, I appreciate your advice -- on this thread and throughout many of the spreads! Thank you.
