New PC and plan for 1st buffing

I finally broke down and ordered a PC and plan on my first buffing regimen
with the PC. Here is my plan. Please suggest anything that might be helpfull.
My paint is in very good shape. No oxidation and very few swirls

Wash and Clay
Poorboys SSR 1
Wolfgang Glaze
Poorboys EX-P 2 Coats 24 hrs apart.
Poorboys Natty's Blue coated every 3 to 4 weeks for upkeep.

Pads?

I'm starting to think the Edge pads would've been a better buy than the standard Wolfgang/Lake country pads. They're still good pads but I probably would've bought the Edge pads if I did it all over again.

Also, will you be able to consistently work in the shade or a garage? If not, then the XMT line of polishes might be a good choice since they can be used in full sun. I bought the Meg's DACP polish and wish I got the XMT instead.

Lot's of good micofiber buffing towels too.

I'm an avid fan of the EDGE 2K pads. They are all I have used over the last month and simply love them. I've used the Yellow cutting pad 25+ times with no tears.

Make sure you get the XMT pad cleaner and conditioner. Best cleaner I've found to date!

I ordered the XMT pad cleaner and conditioner last night. I would also like
to try the XMT buffing compounds. I am starting with some Poorboys as I
really have good luck with their products.

I will also probably try the Edge pads in the future. A friend who needs some
buffing done ordered the Wolfgang ETS pads for me to do his car. I will start
there and go with it.

I am a mobile detailer and love the fact that this lineup can be used in the sun and heat. I'm doing a black BMW X5 that is pretty neglected so I can try out all 3 stages of the swirl removers and the glaze.

If they work as well as they smell (very fruity), this should be a hit!

Congrats on the PC Belcherm!! I envy you but I'll be catching up pretty soon. I noticed that in your list you are going to use both 1.0 and the WG finishing glaze? I am curious as to why you chose to use both instead of just the WG or just the 1.0? Aren't they both finishing polishes? It seems to me that you need only use one?

Wolfgang Finishing Glaze is a fine grade polish full of lubricating oils and mild diminishing abrasives.

all terms in detailing are used very loosely, as such you should always read the directions and usage for each product. Most glazes have some abrasive quality (thus not a pure) and some even offer protection.

You may be right. I was just thinking that the glaze was a lighter polish
with some oils or such to replenish the paint before LSP. If that is the case,
I reckon I have 2 bottles of fine polish. This will be my first Wolfgang purchase
and it will give me an idea of how I like their products. Poorboys has been my
base brand since I started using their products. I have never been disappointed with anything I have used.

I will be happy to compare them. I have a polish job set up tomorrow on
a 94 Mustang GT. Dark Green and the paint in rough shape. I will be starting
with Porboys SSR 2.5. I will be able to try both finishing polishes after bringing it back from the dead. I will post my thoughts.

as the PB's SSR1. I ended up having to use the Meguiars #83 DACP to get
the swirls out. The SSR1 was not cutting it. I used the SSR2.5 that I had
on someone elses car and got the DACP locally. The DACP with a orange
LC pad did the trick. and SSR1 to refine that and the WG FG to finish. The
WG FG would not refine the hazing that the DACP left. I used the SSR1 and
then the WG FG and viola. The perfect finish. I am afraid I am going to
cause Wreck from people looking at the truck while driving.:awesome:

I have a heck of a time posting pics. I will e-mail them to Meghan and see
