It looks like a kit or something. Maybe there's an applicator pad and an MF in that case (I hope).
$20.00 more?I dont know the answer to this specifically, but I see rather noticable price increases everywhere lately especially the grocery store. It costs more to manufacturer and to transport ..
$20.00 more?
At this time of the yr.. it is poor marketing strategy...
Maybe you are correct. Time will tell.Is it? There are certainly some markets where the more you charge the more desirable the product...regardless of whether the functionality follows the price.
Maybe you are correct. Time will tell.
If you sell a bag of Ice in summer time for $2.00 and now you try selling it for $3.00 how much business would you have?
rops:
I'm not disagreeing with you...but we're not talking an OTC shelf, we're talking a boutique product. There are a lot of people on this forum that think that Duragloss is a LOT like Zaino...yet that doesn't keep Sal from selling enough higher-priced product to keep himself in new Corvettes...
Todd Helme said:The formula of Midnight Sun was been tweaked and improved.
The packaging has changed and the container has gotten bigger. The previous wax was 7 ounces, the new Midnight Sun is 7.4 ounces.
With the old formula in the smaller package you could easily get 25 applications of premium wax. The previous kit price was $69.99, which equated to $2.80 per application. A value in the premium wax world.
With the new formula and increased container size you should be able to easily get 27 applications, which is $2.98 per wax application, not including the increase in quality of the included microfiber towel.
Todd Helme said:BLACKFIRE Midnight Sun Ivory Carnauba Paste will continue to be a hand poured, premium carnauba wax that is blended from the finest ingredients, including a helping of BLACKFIRE's Wet Diamond polymers. The formula has been improved further (technically the latest pour could be considered Batch 26) and the sizing has been increased by almost half an ounce. In today's world this is quite rare, we have all heard the saying and and have likely had to say it ourselves, “They dont' build them like they used to.” To combat rising manufactuing and chemical costs many manufactuers restort to using lower quality ingredients, decreasing size, or using lower quality ingredients to maintain or increase margins.
If you apply Midnight Sun thick you should be able to get at least 25 applications per the previous 7 ounce size. In identical kit form, which included one microfiber towel and foam applicator, Midnight Sun sold for $69.95, which comes to $2.80 per premium wax applicaton. With the increase in size (assuming two more thick applicatons) the improved formula cost only $2.96 per premium wax applicaton. A nominal increase for an improved formulation that includes a higher quality microfiber towel as well.
And this was my question for him. From Todd Helme himself.

Not trying to argue the point, but what new formula.I have not seen any advertizement or talk about NEW formula. Is there anyone that had used this new formula? Anyone done any product evaluation? The OLD formula was available for $59.00 just about everywhere that has the product.
