New ruby red metallic w/vinyl stripes

I have a new Mustang with vinyl stripes that have a matte finish to them. I'm also the excited owner of a new DA and have Mikes book, a forum favorites package of product, and the products that came with my DA. The stripes are making me nervous. How do you guys/gals deal with vinyl stripes? Do you tape over the edges to keep stray product and the DA away? What products do you put on the stripes? Thanks!

I have taped over the stripes so I don't hit them with the da I then have to clean up the edges of the stripes but it protects them nicely
