Larry visits Rupes in italy to show him the new Bigfoot 21

Bigger motor 30% more power and is better on concave edges and contour edges.

Im so excited for the art of detailing as this post is for the Rupes cry babys that said "the boss is a chinese made crap machine buy the original"

Sadly ignoring that the Boss topped the Rupes hands down. In power and comfort.

They also said that 500w is more balanced and ideal and 900w is overkill and useless :| riiight
I guess I don't know why they increased the power of this one then lol.

I told the Rupes fans that , Rupes will make a new machine and this is nothing but good for our industry.

If the 21 was never topped we would be at a standstill and we would never get innovation and improvement on what already is.

If Rupes never had the porter cable would there be a Rupes?

Very excited this is a special edition polisher made just for larry with his name on it.

It will be at the Rupes booth at sema
(Note they announced the new machine mark II, this machine was made special for Larry it is unknown if this style will be available for purchase)

This polisher is too sexy I don't think I would want to use it, then again I would be forced too how cool it is lol.

*hump*

For what it's worth... this is why I brought in a car with some curves. I wanted to put this new version to the test.

You can see pictures of the production version in action here,

Todd, Alberto and I used the new tools today to do an extreme makeover on the above 1951 Mercury. I was very impressed with the tools after compounding and polishing the paint on this Merc.

We used production units and you can kind of see them here,

Dunno man. I think the video speaks for itself. You think it's some type of response to the Boss? I really doubt it. It's just a company improving their product and listening to their customers.

Mike P, such an expensive paint job: yet such a lacking polish job. Great work! Looking forward to your thoughts and write up on the new Rupes polisher.

Thanks again for everything you do and share for the detailing industry.

Griots fanboy won't stop. It's like Apple and Samsung. You like (fill in the blank) better because (fill in the blank). Just be happy for Rupes. Be happy someone is innovative in the detailing business we all love.

That's exactly what I said ? That this is great for our industry, so I don't get it?

Any new machines, new ideas, is great for our business.

I'm excited to see what flex is going to do next, as everyone is upping there game.

That is why I said I'm excited for detailing.

???

Just got a new 21 and the trigger is different than my older 21. It's not orange but black with a grey grip. Just an updated 21?

I already have the 15, this time round I think I should get the 21 MK2? Need to see what exactly the changes are and hopefully a back to back comparison with the current and soon to be released model.

so this new rupes 21mm polisher with more power (much of the exterior looks to be un-changed) will be at the same level the BOSS G21 is already at?

Yep just about power wise.

Hopefully that opens up the Rupes guys eyes saying that the Boss was a Joke, if the boss wasn't better they would of never had to make this.

Again its great for our industry and business I can't wait to see what flex does or the next big thing

Awesome stuff. Definitely some great engineering and quality control going on at Rupes. Larry's white Mark II really makes me want to get my polisher arsenal custom painted

I would like to make a few things clear.

The BigFoot Mark II has been in development for almost 2 years. I was first shown one last December (10 months) ago. I received and have been using one for the last 6 months. This is a case of RUPES working very hard to trump themselves.

Secondly, the reason that development took so long is because RUPES was adamant about maintaining efficiency! Wattage rating is NOT the amount of power the tool produces. It is simply a measure of consumption, that is how much power does the machine consume off the grid.

What really matters is the torque delivered to shaft, not the power the motor consumed by the motor. That's like bragging your car produces terrible fuel economy. (Seriously)

The random orbital movement is very efficient and requires far less energy consumption to drive the pad. If too much power is sucked off the grid, the power has no where to go and literally the waste becomes heat. As a sophisticated tool manufacturer, we find that producing a hot running tool is unacceptable to our standard.

So the BigFoot Mk II will still only draw 500w off the grid, but will deliver about 40% more torque to the shaft (and thus the paint) as before. Take the modern LS1 Corvette and the original 1970 LS-1 Corvette. The modern car produces 450 horsepower and manages 30 mpg. The original car produced only 370 horsepower (gross, which is probably as low as 330 NET) and managed maybe 12 mpg. While there are plenty of reasons to enjoy the old Stingray, poor fuel consumption is not one of them.

One of the major benefits of being the manufacturer (and known by our peers as one of the most sophisticated) is that we can design, specify, and build the exact high-quality motors we want , design the electronics from the ground up to utilize the power, and of course since we originated the counter balancing system and understand its nuances will still offer the most balanced system, not just on the X (side to side) axis but also the Y (vertical) axis to prolong tool life.

At the very least I hope this clears up a few questions you seemed to have about the creation of the Mk II.
