New size for your Avatar - 180 pixels wide x 240 pixels tall
When I ran the MeguiarsOnline.com discussion forum I set the forum up so you could create a larger Avatar for your forum account.
The default size in vBulletin is 80 x 80 pixels which is like a postage stamp. Here's the deal though, having a little larger graphic doesn't affect the user interface at all as I demonstrated with this thread. See post #6
Test
So if you know how to work with pictures and create your own Avatar have at it.
I use Easy Thumbnails to resize all my pictures. It's free and if you read my tutorial on how to set it up you won't distort your images and you won't overwrite your original with the new version.

The new limits are 180 pixels wide by 240 pixels wide.
