I have a 2019 Impreza. The dashboard is rubber mostly. I cannot find a rag type that does not stick like glue when trying to clean it. What gives? Its so tacky it almost rips lent along with the wiping motions.

Is it possible its releasing something because it's so new

I noticed the same thing when I had a 2016 WRX. Dunno what the dash is made of but it's just not natural. I used a waffle weave glass towel with (gasp!) Chem Guys Silk Shine. Still a little draggy eith the waffle weave but closest I could get to something tolerable on that funky material.

Sounds like it's a nano-mitt in disguise :)

Dont shun me for this.....I used a really old flttened dish wash cloth. It so far has been the best for not dragging. Best I can do is very soft brush on vaccum then interior cleaner with the dish rag. Hoping with age the tackiness goes away.

I have had alot of cars.....this dash has been the hardest to clean. Id rather have old school gm plastic dash. My old Subaru Outback was a piece of cake. The Suburban is by far the easiest to cleanup minus its size.

Same dash on a '18 Outback...I used Meguiar's Quik Interior Detailer (liberally) a couple o' times, then Meg's M-40 after that. QID also does a good job on the nav screen.

I will add...it is still a bit 'sticky' but defiantly not like it was in the beginning.

So you almost soaked the dash? That took away some of the stick? Like it almost grabs the towel out of your hand sticky.

I just cleaned it with Griots Interior cleaner and applied some dilluted pearl. I will see if I like it after its set in. If not, Ill clean it again and try some Griots interior detailer.

I didn't 'soak' it, just used more than the 'normal' spritz. QID evaporates pretty quickly, so that was the only way to keep it moist whilst doing a wipe down. It took a couple of times, but not a lot of time.

I will add...I don't use MF towels on 'padded plastic dashboards', I go old school and use a well worn (and very clean) 100% cotton T-shirt. Of course, dead white cotton athletic are great for buffing off M-40.

The thin coat of Pearl seems to be taking alot of the grab away. It also put some sheen on it, I perfer matte.

I have a 2018 Outback. Same problem...solved by ditching the cloth and using a damp sponge.

I will try to apply the Pearl next time with a sponge vs a MF applicator.

I've owned both a 2015 Outback and a 2016 WRX. I never experienced this issue. The only thing I would use to clean/protect/maintain would be a bi-weekly wipe down with McKee's 37 FAST Interior Detailer. :xyxthumbs:
