Hi Guys,

Been on Detailing World for quite a while (same username) and looked at quite a bit on here so thought I'd join here too

Also doesn't seem to be as many arguments on here :).

Anyway here's my baby

Welcome.
It is simply different here. DW has some strong virtues including no overt economic/commercial ties for the forum as a whole. It is also fairly lightly moderated which I think is a good thing, at least up to a point.
The biggest differences I note:
The UK scene has been much more wax obsessed than the US but I think this is changing to a degree on both sides of the Atlantic.
Glazes seem to be more popular in the UK
It seems like there are more brand specific fanboys on DW than the North American forums.
There are a wider range of coatings available in the UK.
Snowfoaming appears much more common in the UK. I suspect your snowfoams are more aggressive than the few available in North America.
We don't get Bilt Hamber, Valet Pro, Espuma, AutoBrite Direct, Max Protect, Orchard Auto Care, Definitive Wax, Angelwax, Mitchell & King, Gyeon, Modesta and probably a few more unless we direct import which gets expensive. We also only have access to a portion of the Dodo Juice and Race Glaze product ranges and sizes.
Tar spots seem to be a bigger problem in the UK which is mysterious since your climate isn't very hot in the summer or extremely cold in the winter.

Thanks for that :)

IMO your not missing much, I think little to the coatings we have, don't use snowfoam, and out of that list of manufacturers I'd only recommend about 5 products. Of course I haven't used every single one. Perhaps our tarmac is softer than yours? Or perhaps we moan too much.

I'm surprised tbh I'd of thought there would be a lot more in the US than over here...

Sweet Car. Think you can send us over some of those great waxes that we can't easily seem to get our hands on? lol

Welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum.

Thanks :xyxthumbs:

There's no reason why not but it's a lot of trust for you guys. I'll have a think if your serious.

Thanks for signing up. It's great to have more points of view. I enjoy the culture in UK. Much more friendly and proper than the U.S. Can't wait to take another trip. Welcome to AGO!!!!!

I've been thinking of venturing to other Detailing forums. However I am very comfortable here.

Welcome
