Hi,
I've just been given a pinnacle detailing kit as a birthday present and have given my car a treatment with all the products in the kit. (wash, clay, cleanse, seal)

After shining the car up nicely, I can now see heaps of orange peel, and in some areas on the doors and c-pillars, the paint seem to have micro bumps that blur the edge of the reflections. The best I can describe it is that the orange peel has orange peel.

Please see attached photos, one taken at super-macro level.

The rest of the car is pretty good, it has some swirls that I need to remove, but this is worrying me the most.

What can I do about this?

I'm having a professional come look at it soon and offer his opinion, but thought I would check here in the mean time.

Thanks for any suggestions/help.
Paul.

Can't really tell how bad it is from the photo, but let the pro look at it. Wet sanding is the only cure. Be sure that the pro has a paint gauge to see how much clear you have before wet sanding.

This is a single stage white. The car is a 1997 Australian Ford Fairmont. Ford Aus used single stage for red and white for a long time, and I believe they have only recently started clearing over red. Will that make a difference?
