Welcome to AG family! your car looks awesome!!! Keeping car in it's best shapo will requiring weekly washes if it's a daily driver (wash it bi-weekly if it's garage qeen and you drive it onl weekends).
There are a lot of good brands, and here are my favorite ones -
Pinnacle, Wolfgang, DP, Duragloss, Optimum, Poorboy's, Collinite.
you won't be dissapointed by these brands, as they offer some of the best products in the world.

Wash---Clay---Polish---Protect

Wash - Poorboy's SS&S, Duragloss #901, Optimum

Clay - any clay will do (stay away from Megs aggressive RED clay), for touch ups use Pinnacle Ultra Poly clay.

Polish - XMT and Optimum can be used in a full sun. Very low/no dusting when used correctly, finishing down LSP ready. You can also look at Menzerna line. Not sure how sun friendly all it's polishes are, but I used PO106FF mixture with Clearkote RMG (red machine Glaze), and it worked very well. PO106FF is one must have polish from Menzerna.

Protect - depending on how often you are willing to seal/wax, and what results you are looking for. For the best looks - Wolfgang DGPS, Four Star UPP, DP SS. For the best durability - Duragloss #105. All of those listed above are synthetic sealants, last longer then carnauba waxes, but not quite durable to bird poop, with exception of DG #105.

Canauba waxes - Pinnacle waxes (all three), DP Max Wax are my favorite for looks. Best durability carnauba waxes will be Collinite, with 476S lasting the longest.

Remember that you can use carnauba wax over sealant, but use sealant over carnauba.

That BMW is in awful shape! It's a good thing you came to Autogeek so that you can buy some products to make it look good again.

Good luck making that thing shine again! With the right products, it can be brought back to life.

hopefully you're kidding, this is one of the cleanest e34's in the country :)

supercharged: thanks for the tips, ive got a PC polisher and a few cars to practice on before this one. there is only very fine swirling on the bimmer that i think the XMT 360 can easily take out. i just have to decide what pads to get etc.

:applause: another Bimmer... I have an E36 328i myself

Welcome to AG... PM if you have any questions or post here

Is it single stage or cc paint ?

First of all welcome to AutoGeek and you got a nice looking Bimmer...very nice.

Lots to learn here, and don't be shy on asking questions..no such thing as a dumb question.

e34's are classic, and that one is looking good!

(e39's are better though ;) )

Adam, welcome to AG. Nice ride. Love this shot.

Yes, I was just kidding Adam. Your car is perfectly flawless, amazing work keeping it clean like that for so long.

haha E36 M3, E39 M5, E34 any, E30... all else is just OK

lol you forgot that an e46 m would kill all of those in the twisties (even the m5).....

Let me guess.. you have a 540i ?

If you're saying E46 vs. the M328i aka M3 in US then yes, it will kill it... on the other hand, if you consider the M3 we were robbed of, the Euro version aka the real M3... think again

Either way, I was speaking of looks and feel, not power... E46 M is a great car with a lot of power, but is a fat ####### and feels nothing like the E36 and feels even worse than E30... I like cars that feel more connected to the road over powerful cars, but to each his own I gues...

you hv a typo on the last line. I think you meant to say but not use sealant over carnauba.

Your bimmer looks amazing. My BMW to the right here is a 2003. If I can make it shine
like that with no machine then your car should come out awesome. Welcome to the addiction. Welcome to AG. Have fun.

Erik

Welcome, you car looks great. AG carries a lot of great products to keep it look that way. The forum has a lot of very knowledgable detailers and really great people on it.
