I'm tired of working myself to death on deep scratches and oxidation so I'm going to give a rotary a shot. I've never used one so I'm nervous about making a mistake. Any pointers would be appreciated. I'm curious how the rotary works in tight places and multi angle positions. Is the rotary for large flat areas or is it used in all the tight places also? Thanks

just practice between 600rpm-1000rpm. light pressure, curved foam pad (lc ccs is decent) I have 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 inch backing plate for my dewalt 849x. Rotary is fantastic in small/tight/concave areas where you need more precision.
