What's going on? I'm Jake and I'm in the Army and stationed up here in Anchorage at Ft. Richardson. I drive a 2003 Solar Yellow Dodge Neon SRT-4. I am far from being new to the forums world as I have been on car forums ever since I was 15. Forums to me are one of the best sources of information, hence why I joined this one.

My goals for my car is to just get rid of the light swirls in the paint and bring that yellow to a deep warm shine. I have been lurking on this forum for a little bit trying to do my research on which direction product wise I should go. I was thinking the new gen 3 Griots Garage da buffer but other than that, there is just so many products out there idk what to choose. I was thinking maybe the new Wolfgang Duo and then top that with a nice nuba paste wax, maybe pete's 52. But like I said, it's pretty overwhelming how many different directions you could go and how many different products there are. I just want products that will really make my Yellow car shine like no other. I recently just clayed the car and man was I impressed with how much better it shines from simply doing a clay bar session, so now I can't wait to see how much it will shine with quality products on it and with the swirls gone.

And I have read most of the stickies and DIY's and product reviews, but if you guys could give your opinion on what might work great on a yellow paint, that would be awesome. Thanks!

Smack; No not as of yet. I was going to hopefully purchase the Griots Garage DA and buy the pads and stuff along with it. Then hopefully get a nice polish sealant and wax and start from there to do my minor paint correction.

:welcome: to AG!

I'm relatively new to the machine polishing thing and bought a GG gen3 a couple months ago and have absolutely no regrets. You're right, there's such a myriad of options out there it can be overwhelming.

I think the Wolfgang twins would be a great place to start - also might want to look at some Menzerna FG-400 which gets rave reviews and my experience with Menz products has been great as a relative newb. Try some LCS yellow or orange pads (least aggressive first and take it from there).

I'd suggest a 5" backing plate and 5.5" pads if you get the Griot's - a bit easier to work with the smaller pads IMO.

The wax choices are many - Pete's 53 works well, at least here in Florida - but maybe go Collinite for your harsher weather conditions in Alaska??

I'm sure many will chime in here - again, welcome..

Nice suggestions.

GG6 is a great machine as well as its competitors. You cant go wrong with any of them

To make things easy to start with this list,
Lake Country Hydro-Tech Essentials Pad Kit -Pads
lake country 5 inch backing plate, 5 inch backin plate, 5 inch hook and loop backing plate -Plate

You mentioned the Wolfgang duo which is fantastic. Finish your correction work with WGDGPS for unbeatable long lasting paint protection with incredible gloss.
Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant delivers a deep, wet, liquid shimmer unlike anything you can imagine.

Dont bother with a carnauba based wax as a sole protector for your paint. Your weather conditions will kill it.

Thanks guys. I'll definitely be pick up the wg deep gloss sealant. I'm not too sure on the duo anymore though because I'm not a big fan of glazes now haha. I'm thinking menzerna ff kit that comes with the more aggressive polish as well. Then seal it up with Wolfgang high gloss sealant then a nice wax on top of that.

Which ff kit do you speak of? Let me know and I will help get you where you want with Menzerna products. PM me if needed.
