Woot! Got everything I need now. I feel I did pretty good. I've been researching products and brands for a couple of months.

Hart's setup is looking familiar :) I got the same stuff exept the vac. I got the toolbox looking version only because they were out of that exact one. Very smart purchases !!! You won't be disappointed. Let us know how you like the karcher... It might seem weak on power but 1400 is plenty and doesn't bog 1850watt generator down either.

I looked at the tool vac, but realized there were some tools that it couldn't store that I wanted to use, much less the extended 11' hose. I did think it was pretty cool that the hose for the toolbox version streched.

I don't have to worry about a generator because I'm relying on customer's power. I know now the best thing, but I got to work with what I have. I'm only planning on doing 2-3 vechicles a week whether they are full details or washes. Depending how it goes this year, I might turn to some bigger ideas next year.

What you have and your ideas look good. Start slow and sooner or later the repeat customers will keep a part time detailer booked ! Market the high end owners at local doctor's offices, eye centers, lawyers, real estate agents and you should score something.

Very nice buddy, looking forward to hearing how everything works out for you. :Picture: are welcomed :D

Will be using the Karcher tomorrow on an older 4Runner and my Mustang

Congrats! You've got the best water hose made! I won't ever buy a different hose than a Craftsman. Good luck.

I actually came across a few decent makes, all with warranties. I kept finding myself go back to the Craftsman though. I just got a 50ft for now. I may also get a 25 ft for when I don't need that long of hose.

How much was the detail kit for the vac?

$19.99 :awesome:

Downside? Nah, there isn't one really! I have yet to use it though. The only thing I can imagine is that the hose is "smaller" than the traditional hoses.

It always feels good to but some stuff you need. I have a few of the things you bought

Well, tried the Ridgid wet vac today. I would make a review thread, but I know many of you already have something similar.

I was very pleased. It seemed loud, but then again I was in my garage with the doors shut. I've also never ran another wet/dry vac to compare it too. I know the Ridgid's were supposed to one of the quieter ones, so I'm sure it is. I also have the car detailing kit. Came with an 11' 1 1/4" hose and three accesories. I wasn't sure to buy this hose, or the 2 1/2" thicker hose. For only $20 for the car detailing kit, I got that. The 2 1/2" hose alone was $40, before any 2 1/2" accessories.

I took out any debris/trash I had in the car and then vacuumed as normal. At first, I was slightly disappointed, but I realized I was moving way to fast. Also, I realized to make sure any of the accessories were completely flat against the carpet, and go slow. Worked GREAT after doing this. One pass was pretty much all that was needed.

I then sprayed some APC+ on the carpets and mats and scrubbed with a carpet brush from Wal-Mart. Worked great. (I also have that Megs carpet brush with the two different bristles (yellow/brown bristles), but I didn't use it)

Then I vacuumed again the same way, one pass and slow. Worked great! I could tell the vac sucked some of the APC residue up, because it was much dryer to the touch than un vacced areas. Overall, very pleased at this point. I will also add that APC+ leaves a fairly nice odor, not anything awesome, but nothing bad. A clean scent I guess.

Finally I tried my new DG Odor remover. I just simply sprayed a couple squirts on the carpets and a few in the air vents. Smell was unique, but definintely not anything bad.

Overall, I am very very pleased with my Ridgid 4gal, 5HP wet/dry vac!!
