new truck how to tell if soft or hard paint?

I will be buying a new pickup truck in a couple of months. Narrowed it down to 3. Toyota Tacoma, Honda ridgeline or GMC canyon. Gathering products for a new truck detail. How to tell if paint is soft or hard on these? Woundering which polish pads to use? Have lake country CCS in orange, white, black and blue. Thanks.

-The “Test Spot”: starting off by using
the least aggressive product, pad, etc.;
-and, then progressing up the aggressive-
ness scale if/when necessary;
-is one of the best ways to determine
vehicles’ paint-hardness/softness.
