Hey guys,
I've been reading/searching quite a bit for the last few days and was wondering if You can help me on what the best combination of products would be for me.
I have a black 07 350z which is my daily driver and only car. Unfortunately I don't have any close up pics with me at the moment but the paint is in pretty good shape, it does have its minor swirls from regular washing and drying and few water drops which can't be seen on sunlight but are apparent under fluorescent light at gas stations.
Unfortunately I live in an apartment complex so have no garage and my parking space is far from any electrical outlets or water spigots. This no garage issue is the main reason why I have held off on getting a PC (I live in South Florida..the sun is crazy and rain comes in when you least expect it, so I can't say start a polish process then leave the car in the garage and finish later in the day or next day etc..)
Given this I am stuck doing what i can by hand (at least until I move to a new place with garage) and with only a few hours of daylight available that are not sun-blazing hot.
Since the car is not garaged I wash it every weekend at a friend's house once the sun is going down and take the opportunity to seal/wax there when needed as well.
I have been using Zaino since I got the car last year and although I like it, lately I just find that the paint doesn't have the kick that i'd like.
I was thinking about playing around with other sealants/waxes although i am a bit limited in what I can get since I don't have the luxury of being able to let a sealant or wax sit for hours on end before removing or doing something else (even zaino I find that sometimes I have to rush it a bit because i find myself running out of sunlight).
Given all this, the products I currently have at home are:
Zaino claybar
Zaino z2 and z5
Poorboys natty blue wax
I also have at home but not yet used..
Optimum No Rinse
Klasse AIO
3M imperial hand glaze
Menzerma final polish
This weekend my friend will be out of town so I'm thinking of goin over to his place a bit earlier and give it a detail (as good as I can given my situation...weather permitting) and here's where I'd love some tips...
The car was recently clayed last month as well as put on a layer of z5 and last week I put a layer of natty's wax over that.
1)I'm thinking of using some menzerma (again by hand..no PC) to see if it'll help at all with the water spots (which are usually only visible under fluorescent light). I am guessing this would remove the zaino as well. In this case should I use menzerma (by hand ) or am I better off using Klasse AIO instead (im guessing this would also remove the zaino, I have never used either one), then Z-5 again and then the Natty blue again? or should not bother with menzerma or klasse by hand since they wont do anything for the spots...
2)Is there another sealant I should try other than the z5 or is z5 good enough? I was looking into Poorboys EXp or Fourstar UPP....I looked into Wolfgang but noticed it needs to cure for 12+ hours and again can't really do that because of the weather uncertainty here. I also looked into Klasse sealant but read that it's a bit of a pain to take off. Like said sometimes I even find myself rushing to wipe off the zaino because I'm running out of light and notice it hasn't quite dried completely..so maybe something that dries quicker than zaino?
3)Given I have such a short time I can work in, whats worse...rushing to take the product off (eg. zaino, or other sealant or wax) risking it may not have 100% dried or leaving it in the car overnight but risking rain/dew or the fact that since it is outside, by the time I go wipe it off the next day, dust might have settled and I might swirl the surface when removing the sealant?
Any tips as far as what the best order/way of using those products i already have, or any new ones I should try instead (considering the fact I need something that I can work with relatively quick given the short time span i have to work with) or any other tips/suggestions would be appreciated!! Sorry for the long post!
