Newb product testing and technique

Long post sorry!

So I had the day off today and decided I should try some of the new products I purchased from recommendations and information I gathered form the forum and had some questions. So first thing I did today was wipe down/clean both doors with D101 so I could test and decide weather I liked the finished look of Chemical Guys Silk-Shine or 303 better and came to the conclusion that the Silk-Shine was a little to glossy for my taste. First area I detailed after vacuuming was the back because my car is a coupe and I always do the hardest part of a project first. I cleaned everything with D101 and a microfiber first, didn't see the need to use a brush as the seats were already mostly clean and the cloth came back only very slightly soiled. Followed with Lexol Conditioner on the seats and 303 around half an hour later on all panels.

Here are my questions...
1. When using the D101 I sprayed on the cloth and directly on the surface. Is this ok?

2. Also sprayed Lexol on the cloth and directly on the surface and followed with a dry cloth to buff out any excess. Is this ok?

3. Was I right to let the Lexol sit for half an hour or should I have waited longer/not waited at all ect...?

4. Also sprayed 303 on the cloth and directly on the surface and followed with a dry cloth to buff out any excess. Is this ok? Seemed like the 303 was a a little splotchy or smeary when dried but my technique may be poor.

Just looking for advice, any missing steps or problems with application. Please critique me till you blue in the face if you have to! Thanks.

Use a applicator pad like the little square sponges to apply wax,so you can even out the application of the product you desire,I never spray on seat. Only the sponge.spraying on those seats may have caused the splotchy promblems.You may want to consider hyper dressing great stuff and you can dilute it to your desired look and also the tires engine etc.I think hyper dressing far exceeds 303 in quality and durability,303 to me is armorall I know some one will chime in and give there opinion I've been doing this for 23 years so I'm not new at this good luck .
 
Thanks GSKR. I will try the Hyper Dressing, I like the fact that you can dial in the gloss. Wish I had seen that before I bought the 303, although the 303 seems fine to me but I am very picky on how shiny/dull I want cetin things to look. I bought some regular applicator pads at the local store but will probably order some from here. Any specific ones you prefer and should I really soak them down or just moisten them? I'm sure its trial and error but I would like to save from doing that. Also what do you recommend for normal use just to quickly keep things clean without to much work between details?
 
I would use on that interior,micro sponges ag sells them.
 
Just spray a sponge in a x pattern with the nozzle buried in the sponge.That should help you.
 
Maybe stick with the lexol or ultima interior cleaner gel ,I think that's the name that car is spotless.
 
I did a quick test run on the dash with some D101 and the 303 with the applicator pad and it came out perfect. Thank you much!
