I have been buying products from autogeek since this past spring time (as a result of discovering the Nomad portable hose and Optimum No rinse wash from a detailer online). I would consider myself an amateur detailer (just as a hobby), as I like to clean/maintain my car myself (it's my baby lol/my first owned car). In the short time I have been detailing, I have racked up a good amount of supplies/products. I have been getting tips from forums and just checking out people's success with products (my favorite ones, "man versus machine" and "how to remove swirls by hand") can't wait until spring time to really try these products out (ultimate compound/swirl x). But this past spring/summer my 3 main brands I use are Optimum, Mothers, and Meguiars.

:detailer:

Welcome! Did you get yourself a DA yet? Best investment for hobbyist and for pro detailers.

Thanks for the welcoming..

I would if I could and learn how to use it etc. but I live in an apartment in nyc. So unlike a lot of people who work on their cars either in their driveway/garage, I do not have that luxury lol. So I do the best that I can with my good hands (I know, how useful machines are, but that is why I am so interested in the "man vs. machine" thread and related ones since I fall in the category that I must use my hands. Also some reason my attached pictures didn't come up on initial post so take a look at my pride and joy lol.

ha thanks, I try to keep it as clean as possible and avoid damage (for a nyc car it is very hard), but a lot of love, patience, and anger management lol has gone into getting it to the point it is now.

Yeah I use to live in Brooklyn, so I know how much a beating cars take. Recently I seen a lot of people with these matts that cover the front and back bumpers. You should look into it because NYC parking sucks.

oh nice...yea I have seen them as well one on a maserati that parks in the neighborhood (idk why) since if you can afford one put it in a garage lol. but those are meant for garage use, I remember reading not meant to take elements from weather etc. But I don't like it though, too much work for me to go hook it up to the hood etc. I have the bumper bully that has padding underneath (the newer version) for my rear bumper which I just flip out of the trunk easily, it has served me well (as well as sticking to parking on the corners)
