Hi,

My name is Tom and I'm from Apex,NC - Just outside of Raleigh.

I have a 2011 Nissan Frontier and a 2005 Nissan Altima, I've been doing the detail on my truck since I got it using Adams products as was recommended from a co-worker. It looks good but want to make it look better and also to get the wife's car back up to looking good - it's been neglected.

Found autogeeks forum and have been looking through the forums and the website. I have to say there is a lot of info available about how to but I am LOST and/or just Over whelmed with the amount of products and no real direction to what products to use.

Any help or direction would be great.

I would love to find a local detailing club if any exist. I've not seen anything on the forum yet.

thanks
Tom

Welcome to Autogeek. You are correct, tons of information and help from the experts. I use a Porter Cable polisher with Lake CCS 5.5 inch pads. I started with Klasse All In One followed High Gloss Sealant. Menzerna, Blackfire, Wolfgang and Collinite have great products I have used and many more. Start with a polisher kit and a brand of products and keep reading/trying. You will find what works for you. Watch Mike's videos. Good luck.

Welcome from SC Tom! Everyone here is more than willing to help so if you have questions just ask away.

Welcome!
You're very right there are a zillion different products and it's impossible to try them all out to see what works best with what in which situation but that's what's great about forums is other people can do some of the testing for you.

When I started out I found it easiest to stick to one brand. They make their products to go with each other for ideal results.

Hello!
New to serious car care. Purchased a '14 Mazda6 in April. My goal is to learn how to keep it looking great or better than it did on the lot. Had the paint sealed by a pro here in Baltimore couple of weeks after purchase. I'm looking forward to learning how to do this myself moving forward.
Challenges I face:
1- I'm new
2- no garage
3- street parking on a beautiful tree lined street (birds, sap, branches)
Upside is I have access to a residential parking garage thru work that has many empty floors and water source!
Thanks and look forward to some knowledge.
Cheers!
Rick
