Car in question is a Rover 200vi

Wash
With CG Maxi Suds
Dried with megs water magnet
Suds let to sit for five then rinsed
Washed again with the two bucket method.
Then clayed the whole car with Mothers Clay and Megs Quick Detailer

Exterior
Started with PB's SSR2 on a SFX White Pad,got nowhere quite quickly,so stepped up to SSR2.5 a no go once again.Which was surprising because i thought British paint would have been soft.Anyway i ended up with :
Menz PG on a 4" SFX Yellow Pad using the slow-cut method ( which took ages ) spread on No1,2 passes at speed 3,then a spritz, back to No1,I found taking this back to No1 and going back over the polish until brought it up nicely ( Instead of spritz and straight into No3,kept it on 1 until all the polish had hazed up )
Menz IP on a 6" SFX White pad, spread on 1, 2 passes at speed 4 - Spritz - then a pass on speed 5-6.
Once that was done it had a coat of XXX Wax
Wheels Thought i would try something new here i used a non-acidic wheel cleaner by THE WAX HUT,and might i say it is very good stuff.Tyres follow with Tyre cleaner from THE WAX HUT also.
Trim, rubbers were dressed with a Blackfire vinyl, rubber and upholstery cleaner.
Windows were done with AG window polish.( This stuff is way to dusty for me ).

Interior
Inside was kept in good condition,so i treated the leather with CG Extreme leather conditioner.
Vinyl, rubber etc....again with the Blackfire product.
Passenger side carpet had little black dots there because the owner works on building site ( stuff like you find on roofing felt ) But sprayed with BF cleaner and a bit of elbow grease with a Megs interior brush it came off. Then around with the hoover.
Scented with cherry air freshner.

Engine
Full of cement dust,so i bought some Megs D Greaser cut 4:1 and some more elbow grease ,unfortunatley i dont have any pics of the afters.

The Before

Once the car was washed and clayed i could see how bad the paint really was.

You get the picture

A couple of 50/50 shots

And the results, due to the car having to go back i only had time to take a few piccys, but better than none i suppose. There is nothing wrong with the paint on the left,i realised the day after i was holding a cig in the same hand

Very sorry if this has bored you guys, but as this was my first detail i found it to be a very good learning curve.

Cheers

Very nice detail. How did you like XXX wax?

TBH I love the XXX wax, because my car is white it seems hard to get it to shine like darker colours but this wax makes it look wet which is what i prefer.

Im looking forward to using the duragloss polish i had sent over but im not to sure how to use it.
Do you put the bonding agent on first, leave it on and polish over the top or agent, then buff that off then applie the polish ?

Cheers

Overhaulin is a awesome show. When it come to cars, Chip Foose is the man.

Dude! What a sweet detail you did on that car!

Really nice work, and very interesting too. Thanks for listing your materials and methods. For a newbie like me I'm interested in how other people detail because I haven't worked out my own process yet.

Thanks for the great pics!

S>

Great job on turning around that bad boy! What a dramtic difference between the before and after shots. Very good job indeed. :applause:

I did not know Land Rover made such cars. All we see here in Texas are the big four wheel drive type vehicles.

Man, what a difference! Brought it back from the dead! I'm going to have to try the Menzerna's or Blackfire polishes. I've heard about them so much, now I've seen the results. By the way, your steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car;).....you might want to check for recalls:D lol

Redwarf this car isnt made by land rover m8 just rover,we got the land rovers just like you m8.

Deadgood1 is was thinking the same thing about your cars fella.....lol....thats why im not gonna drive when i go to florida

Also thanks for the replys you have given guys.

Cheers

I love the half and half shots and the last shot with the beads the best! Enjoy your trip here. November is just one month away. :)

Hey Scud,

Your car looks Fantastic!, the only thing I noticed was inside your wheel wells looked like it could use a little dressing in there.

Very nice work!!:D

You put the bonding agent on first and then put the polish on top of the bonding agent and then buff the whole thing off.

Thank you Jen.

I did try to get in there but struggled with it,i cant wait for my garage so i will be able to take them off.

Thanks for the replys too.

very nice.

I suggest you look into Pinnacle XMT3 for a heavy cut polish. It truelly is made for the PC and gives amazing results!

High Temp Heavy Cut would also be an excellent choice on a yellow pad.

I did ONE detail with 4" pads. never again, hehe
