Let me begin by saying that I have read tons and tons of posts on here and just when I think that I get a kit figured out, I read something else and I decide on something else. I am at a total loss on what I need to or should get, so I welcome your expert opinions.

I want to know what would be my best choice to use on the following cars:

1. 2007 Lexus IS250, black. Only had this three months so the paint is in pretty good condition. All it has seen has been Zaino, but I haven't been overly impressed. There are some minor swirls that I want to take out and maintain as close to a perfect shine as possible.

2. 2005 Lexus ES330, black. This paint, while not bad, does have heavier swirls that I would like due to the previous owners. Too many runs through an automatic car wash. Need to make this look like new again.

3. 2001 Dodge Neon, red. This car will be my "learning" car. As you can guess, this car needs some help, but I really don't need to purchase a special product for it if I don't need to. In other words, the 2 black Lexuses are my priority.

4. 2001 Pontiac Firebird, pewter. This car belongs to my brother and needs to major attention. Again, this car will be a practice car. Anything that can be done to this car will make it look better. My brother simply does not take care of the exterior like I would.

I have no products yet. No machine, no pads, no chemicals. I need to know what I need to buy. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

The Poorboy's kit will give you a great start. It has all the necessary / essentail polishes, pads, machine, QD, wax... everything you'll need. I'd add in a few more pads and microfibers just incase though.
Poorboy’s Porter Cable 7424 Polish & wax Kit

Or you could get a PC and pad kit and then pick and choose the polishes you want. You can't go wrong with any of the pads or polishes that AG sells so pick whichever one looks best to you.

When you get the PC don't forget to put the washer on the backing plate before you screw into PC. Washer will be in bag with wrench.

If you don't do this you will have trouble and want to send machine back. Speaking from experience.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I am at a loss on which polishes, sealants, and wax would be best for the two Lesuses. I have head that the clear coat is very soft and I have alsi read that the newer black Lexuses don't even have a CC.

2 x Black
1 x Red
1 x Pewter

Sweet colors too detail

I would say:

PC
XMT360
XMT 1 and 3
DuraGloss 101
DuraGloss 105
Pinnacle Liquid Souveran
DuraGloss Aquawax
or/and
Pinnacle crystal Mist/carnauba spray wax
EDGE pads (kit)
Hand applicators
Cobra Microfiber (kit)

Remember good washing tools (GritGuard, ShMitt, Poorboys SS&S, Guzzler etc) keeps the cars in great shape after the detail also

There is also a XMT Porter Cable kit that comes with a bunch of pads, and the full line of XMT polishes. I really couldn't tell you whats best because I am a noob myself, but I am just letting you know what's out there. I myself got this kit like 2 weeks ago as my first AG purchase:

Porter Cable 7424 & Foam Pad Kit - Car Buffer

But in retrospect I woulda been better off spending $50 more and gotten one of the bigger kids that included the polishes like this kit:

XMT Porter Cable 7424 Intermediate Swirl Remover Kit with CCS pads!Free Bonus!

Because I ended up buying XMT #1, #3, 360 in a following order. I guess you live and you learn. Also, like the person above said there is a Poorboys kit as well, which I don't know which is better the Poorboys or the XMT.

It definitely seems that buying the kit is the way to go when you are starting from scratch. I just need to know what the consensus is as far as the best for the Lexus and if I need to buy any additional sealers, wax, etc.

I really like this setup below also. I've been using Duragloss products for a good long while and can vouch for the shine on black paint. The look is also exceptional on red. If you have time reference the Edge 2000 double side pads. They were made with the PC in mind, IMO.

I would say:

PC
XMT360
XMT 1 and 3
DuraGloss 101
DuraGloss 105
Pinnacle Liquid Souveran
DuraGloss Aquawax
