I was wondering what best wax and pads to use for a beginner. I already have a PC. I have a 99 Max and 02 F350 that need to be done very badly. The Max is used as the wife's garbage can and is garage kept. The F350 is my daily driver and used for everything. It is kept outside. I am looking something that will get rid of the scratches and durable to hold up to the elements.
I appreciate some help with this. I will post some before and after pics once I the vechicles are done.

My suggestion:

Use a good polish like the XMT line, then a sealant like PoorBoy's EX-P, then follow with 2 coats of Pinnicle Souveran Paste Wax. If you cant afford the Souveran than I suggest the PoorBoy's Natty's Blue. You will need 2 blue or gray pads and 2 white pads. And I highly recommend the Cobra Ultra Plush jr. only microfiber i use now
 
Wash ---- Clay --- Polish ---- Protect

do a search and you will find a load of easy to use, great products for the novice and professional alike. Many choices and most come down to personal preference.

Pads --- Edge Kit or Lake Country

Washing/Drying:
For this, you want a proper wash mit and drying towel. For a washmit, I recommend the Schmitt. It is a soft foam with a scrubber for lower areas. It can be machine washed, and Justin can personally tell you of its excellence!

And for drying look at the Cobra Guzzler! By far, the best drying towel I have set eyes on. It is 28" x 54" and will dry your beautiful corvette streak free everytime. I suggest grabing one while its on sale!

Claying:
Before polishing or waxing you should clay your car. Claying takes off contaminates bonded to your paint, and gives the paint a smooth feel, and brightes it up. Polishes:

My favorite polishes are the Pinnacle XMT compounds. They have the power to seriously slice off defects and are formulated just for dual action machines like the porter cable. Their abrasives are unique and the results show! Coupled with very little dusting, and a great smell they are hard to beat.

Pads:

EDGE 2k. Nuff Said. These pads are double sided and sturdy, and no backing plates required. The set of the Edge 2k pads in an unbelieveable bargain to me. You get 2 of each grade of pad, buffing bonnets, some XMT Pad Care items, the adapter for the edge pads, and two microfiber towels. Highly recommended.

Waxes/Sealants:

Now you can go two ways with this, but out of my experience with my dads f250 superdity full cab 4 door, bed covered monster of a truck, I would look into a good sealant.

Here I will recommend Duragloss sealants not only because of the superb look and ease of application, but they last a LONG time, and can be freshened up with aquawax, a wax you apply while your car is still wet and wipe off.

Apply the bonding agent and let it dry to a haze. Then apply the 105 on top of the haze. Allow it to sit for about 25 min then buff both off together.Then apply the aquawax mist it on and then wipe it off.

I would go with the Edge 2000 (easy to use) flat pads for a beginner. Also I have not tried it yet but the XMT get great reviews and user friendly (important). Then for polishes it depends how often you plan on waxing. Since winter is comming and you are dealing with daily drivers, I would suggest a sealant (like EXP, WG, Four Star UPP as they are great or my current favorite Duragloss 105).

so many ideas. I think I am going with Edge pads. I am surprised nobody mentioned Klasse products. Is there any problems/difficulties using them for a beginner?

Klasse SG is a little finisky, and maybe difficult to remove. Yes, it's one of the most durable sealants. Durable carnauba will be Collinite Super Double coat paste wax. 2 coats of sealant and carnauba wax will give you 4 month of very durable protection. Ultimate plan for winter detail.
