Is my process ok?

Clean tires and rims with degreaser and daytona brush,
Rinse car completely,
Wash with meguires gold class,
Rinse car,
Keep wet by misting and spray with ONR QD and clay.
Dry car.

I wanted to postpone drying the car so I can clay, I thought that would save time.
It turned out good but is that ok to clay with onr qd on a wet car?

Thanks!

What is your purpose? Is this process for each and every time you wash your car? If so, I wouldn't clay that car as it can induce marring and swirls.

I would not clay the car unless I plan on at least polish it.
By the way, I also do not dry the car until after claying, to save time as well...some people rather dry it first. To each it's own...

It's always a good idea to thoroughly clean the wheels, tires, and wheel wells before doing anything else.

Wetting the car is always a good idea prior to washing as it softens contaminates and debris.

Begin by washing the vehicle from the top down using a quality car wash like Meguiar's Gold Class. Rinse each section and go on to the next until the vehicle is completely washed. Clay each panel then rinse again.

From here you can either polish for further improve the finish or of your satisfied apply a sealant or wax, which ever is your preference....

Basic Steps

  • Wash
  • Clay
  • Compound
  • Polish
  • Seal
  • Wax

Agreed with Bobby G, I will sometimes even give the car a quick wash after claying just to remove any leftover residue etc, even though rinsing should take care of that.

Thanks everyone,
I clayed the car because today I wanted to compound, polish and seal the car.
The car has been sitting in the driveway since then, should I wash and dry it again before i get started? It didn't rain or anything.

The air is dirty everywhere. If it has been sitting you should wash again.
