Exactly Mike, very scary indeed.

Down here in NZ at any motorsport event you used to get a ticket & on the back it used to say - "motor racing is dangerous, you are here at your own risk" They don't do that anymore.

A couple of spectators got killed a few years ago (at different tracks) when a winged sprintcar flipped over the safety fence into the crowd - speedway NZ got taken to court etc so I guess "at your own risk" doesn't count for anything, then no need to write it on the back of tickets.

Very sad though.

Thats amazing how those full bottom splitters can just act like a chute and project a car.

Thats sad to hear though, my heart goes out to the family dealing with the loss and I cant imagine the weight the driver has on their shoulders.
