I have absolutely NO shade for washing my cars and truck. I saw a recent episode of Competition Ready where they cleaned a 1933 Rolls-Royce Phantom II in direct Florida sunshine with a waterless cleaner. I would like to know what product was used for this because one of my Chargers and my F250 are black and traditional washing in direct sunlight isn't working for me!

Thought about buying one of those pop up tents? Maybe on craigslist? Wouldn't be much and would put you in the shade

There's ONR, UWW+, and Uber Rinseless. Those seem to be the top three for most users here.

I Rinseless Wash customers cars in business parking lots in 90 degree heat on a sunny day with no problem using Meguiars D114. I just pre soak the panel with D114 in a spray bottle and then wash with D114 solution using a wash mitt (1oz to 2 gallons of water). I dry with a damp rung out 16 x 16 microfiber and buff off with a dry 16x16 microfiber. I repeat this process on each panel.

Mckees 37 has a rinseless product as well that works as advertised. I have never used wolfgang uber but people here say it's slicker than owl sh** if you get it on the concrete which is good because that means your towels will glide over the paint. Rinseless washing is super effective and easy but technique will make it dangerous if you use to much pressure or not enough mf's. Use a high quality mf I use edgeless 480gsm from another venue than autogeek as I feel they have the superior mf towels. I use a pump up garden sprayer if I go to a business lot for quick exterior washes. Always dilute with distilled water and you will have no spots in my experience. Hope you find what you want.

I use Mckee's 37 Rinse Free Wash & Wax. By washing one panel at a time, and then immediately drying, I get no streaking or built up water spots while in direct sunlight. It adds a nice gloss & slickness to the panel, so it is especially awesome to use in between LSP days.

As for products being able to be used in direct sunlight, I'm pretty sure the PoorBoy's Natty waxes can be, and Mckee's 37 360 is an AIO that can be used in direct sunlight. I've had experience with the older formula (XMT 360) in direct sun, and it worked flawlessly.

^I agree.

Go with just about any rinseless wash, and wash and dry a panel at a time. The wash will cool the surface enough to work on it for a short time.

If you want to apply a non spray wax, maybe give the panel a second wipe to cool it futher and apply as you go.

I have had D114, and others, steaming off the paint on my first pass, but never have any issues.

If is is hot and your claying, keep a wash mitt or towel close by.

As another that has no shade, let me say this - Sunrise is your friend!

I use ONR, Garden Sprayer, and "Garry Dean Method". If it's real dirty, a quick run to the Coin-Op to get the heavy dirt off. But I always start about 15 minutes before the sun comes up. Gives me a good 1 to 1 1/2 hours before it gets too hot to work.

If you want a traditional car wash to use in direct sunlight, use Duragloss #901 Car Wash Concentrate. I literally wash the entire vehicle before rinsing away soap residue. It rinses freely with zero streaks or spot. Follow up with a drying aide starting with the glass first.

I have the same issue living in South Florida. I havent yet been sold on a complete waterless wash, I guess I just love my hose.

What I do, when its super hot and sunny is make sure I really keep my car wet, mist lots of water over it constantly. I dont let any particular panel dry. Despite my best efforts, there will still be some water spots left, which I eliminate by using a drying aid (any quick detailer and many spray waxes work for this).

All Poor Boys products are sun friendly and advertised that way. Give them a try. They are now located in sunny Florida.

I have NO shade at my house either.

I can wash my Ram in about 45-50 minutes, including drying time with my leaf blower, and 2 drying towels for 5 minutes.

Just did this today. Started at 6:45 am here in NY. Sun isn't touching my truck in any real way until 8:00.

So, my way is to rise with the roosters. ;)

Thank you all for your responses! It helps a lot and I appreciate each and every one,

i wake up early and wash before the suns out or u could do it in the evening?
