I am looking for suggestions for a finishing polish that won't stain trim. I am to old and lazy to be taping off a car.

you will want a polish that is water based like GTechniq P1 and P2 but give auto geek a call and ask them about water based polishes

The easiest polish to clean up is Prima Amigo. But, its a glaze / polish / paint cleaner. Optimum polishes are thick lotions. You use them sparingly and they don't splatter. Really, any polish shouldn't splatter on a DA.

Taping trim is just as important as boring... sometimes I risk going bare-trim (kkkk can I say this?), because tape has high price (here), taping is time consuming, and removing taping residue sometimes is as boring as actual taping or even trim cleaning.

If I'm sanding, taping is fundamental, as I think it is with a rotary buffer.

Looking around, I just found the best friend of the lazy (and/or old): Meguiar's Gold Class Trim detailer...

In one fast pass and wipe this product will remove most (if not all and every) wax / polish residue from trim.

Glad I've grabbed a bottle locally, and look forward to see which of the professional line it's equal, so I can order more in volume.

Give it a try if you can, 'saved' me many times.

Hope I've helped,

Kind Regards.
