Hello everyone. What do experts of this forum think about multipurpose polish like Norton's liquid ice?
The guy in the video says it breaks with temperature so it depends on the type of pad you use. That's a water-based polish.
Liquid Ice®
What do you think?

I think there are a lot better polishes than that.

Edit: Oh, sorry, I thought you were talking about the Turtle Wax product. I didn't even know Norton was in that market, I know they make sandpaper and grinding wheels. What are you working on?

HD Adapt is an excellent product that is designed for use with different pads: 3D HD Adapt

I've not heard of it but it appears to be a marine use product, as in fiberglass boats.

Man the product your talking about is like a medium compound. It needs a cutting compound before because it can't remove sandpaper scratches...
If you read in the site they state this liquid ice can remove sandpaper scratches and as you use softer pads you can get a finish without scratches

I love my 3D adapt
But as for cutting compound.. Check out

Flat top by Shine supply is one I've been wanting to try myself

Meguiars has the SOLO line that was similar, but you can change pads for different results with most products.

Does it seem like the AGO Forum Admin has relaxed the recent reinstatement of the Rules regarding brands not offered by PBMG?

If they have...I like it; a lot

Aren't all the products you mentioned above similar to menzerna fg400 or meguiars 105? But I heard someone saying its necessary to use 3d cut before 3d adapt. Is that wrong?

Anyways... In that forum you posted here there's a guy who states the Norton 03b can remove 500 grit and leave a good finish. Is that possible?? Even menzerna's heaviest compounds cannot remove that kind of grit o_O

That scholls compound is great,I wet sanded a triumph to death major orange peel stop sanding at 1500 and started compounding easy Peasey cuts real quick and leaves you lsp ready.

I went to a Norton workshop about the Liquid Ice, and I was unimpressed.

Although it is made by Menzerna, it doesn't cut as I hoped it would.

It is an AIO, with three different pads, probably made by Maxshine China.

It is intended to be used with a rotary.

The idea seems good in the Marketing department, a magic product that replaces everything, you only change the pads, but it is not what it happens.

You are better off with Menzerna 3in1, and your own choice of cut, polish and finish pads.

could you tell me which is the best AIO for you? someone said the s3 xxl and someone the 3d adapt. What about fg400? It's not considered an AIO but can we compare it to these products?

FG 400 cannot be considered an AIO, although, sometimes it can finish as an AIO; it is a cutting compound with nice finishing properties.

I'm a big fan of Menzerna 3in1, but I tested HD Adapt and I was impressed with it.

In fact, the whole HD line is fantastic, too bad it is very expensive where I live.

I also liked the 3D Rubbing Compound AAT, it cut more than FG400, it cut 1200 grit in a test panel with hard clearcoat. Amazing stuff, it cuts so much that it can be considered dangerous.

I also went to a 3D workshop, it was a wonderful time because it was held on Tato's Studio, we were able to play around with 3D line of products.

I tried 3D Polishing Compound AAT as well, it worked fine even with microfiber pad on a rotary, a very versatile compound, it cuts and polishes, depending on your choice of polishers and pads.

Before I knew 3D, I had the wrong impression that their line would be not up to Menzerna, but it is. I'm a big Menzerna fan, but you need to have an open mind regarding everything in life, and be able to change your mindset accordingly.

About the Scholl line, I have never tried, but people I trust who tried says it is really good, a bit more finicker, they tell me Scholl compounds have a steeper learning curve.

So, 3D Adapt and Menzerna 3in1 are both excellent products, but remember that any AIO presents difficult panel removal, it is oily, it leaves a film residue, probably due to longer working time thus particle breaking and wax in its formula. If the paint is too soft it will scratch a bit during removal.

Polishing compounds are like point and shoot videogame, you have several weapons that you choose according to the objective, the difficulty you have at the present level.

Thank you for reading this far, and all the best.

The guy didn't mention what kind of clearcoat he was working on, probably a very soft one, on medium to hard clearcoat I doubt it, I would have to see it with my own eyes to believe it.

Also, what is a good finish standards for him? It could be a bad one for me and you.

They arnt AIO products
You don't need to use hd cut to use adapt

Hd cut is comparable to fg400
Adapt is a medium cut polish/compound...So less cut then FG400
Adapt finishes really well on all types of pads which is why it was mentioned

S3 gold XXL has a tad more cut? Then FG
Also finishes well on all levels of pad abraisives..
Flat top also finished well in different pads

Fg400 s3 gold XXL and flatop are similar in cut

Reg s3 gold is comparable to 3d hd adapt in cut
