Hi all, did a VW GTI last weekend. Owner has only put about 2400 miles in his first year of ownership and washes it regularly. It's parked outside 24/7 and he wanted something to protect it from the elements. We decided on opti-coat 2.0 and my Stage II paint correction. The paint on this was a lot harder than anything I corrected before. It took two hits of FG400 on some panels to get it looking right. Looks like it's time for a Flex or Rupes and some MF pads. :buffing:

Products used:
Wheels - CG Diablo, ZEP Citrus
Wash - CG Citrus Wash
Decontamination - ONR, Nanoskin Autoscrub fine, Iron-X
Polish - Menzerna FG400, SF4500, LC Orange and White pads
Tires - CG Silk Shine

Here are the before and during pictures.

Paint condition after wash and decon. A lot of wash induced swirls.

Here's a 50/50.

After opti-coat 2.o application.

It was night by the time I was done and the owner had to leave. I had to wait until the next day to get some sun shots.

Great job bud. If you are to get the Flex don't pair with MF, it doesn't work as well. If you are to get the Rupes, do the mod then MF heaven. Now I do have a Flex VRG 3401 and I wouldn't change for nothing in the world. I like the power of rotation and I don't have to void the warranty by modding a very expensive DA like the Rupes. Of course i do have the heavy hitters as well, Makita and Panasonic Rotary.

Thanks! I would like to try both the Rupes and Flex before making a decision. The Rupes has so many great reviews. I have a few months before making a purchase so hopefully I can get my hands on both for a test spin. I don't have any rotary experience I'll definitely like to learn how to use those too. How often do you have to use a rotary?
