Hey u guys, I see all kinds of people having this stuff in their garage. Is it any good? Big claims made about it. What do u guys think?Feed back please

It's not exactly top-notch in the looks department but I've used it numerous times for winter protection. Holds up well to automatic washes and road salt and is easy to apply. I'll be putting it on one of my daily drivers in the next week to see how it holds up against duragloss 501/105 over the winter.

I have heard its DURABLE. Thanks for ur input.:props:

I seem to recall NuFinish being the butt of many jokes on this forum for a time, kind of like how "jorts" references show up on college football signs every Saturday this year. And the "[insert opposing coach or player] wears yoga pants" sign. Funny the first couple of times.

I used it many times years ago, it does hold up well.
It doesn't take long to apply it and buffs off easy which is a plus.
Still have a bottle of it somewhere.

It's pretty good, actually. Used it for winter protection as well. Held up very well to salt and touchless washes.

As always, prep is key. Not the best looking, but easy to use and CHEAP too.

^^^Those are some pretty good endorsements, I'd say!!^^^ :dblthumb2:

IMHO...
Nu-Finish is tough stuff---a better product than many give it credit for.
It provides a polymer base...it's a Sealant that provides a very shiny, highly reflective surface.

It has a proven track record:
Or Reed-Union (who has owned it for awhile now, and sells/markets it)
wouldn't have their name/reputation associated with it.

It is a good, easy to apply, long lasting...performs as advertised...product.

I know this isn't a popular stance to take since one doesn't have to sell their
first-born child to buy something that's readily available: Locally/almost anywhere.

:)

To add.

It's been on the market for a very long time, tells me they're selling a ton of it.
Maybe I should start using it on my families cars. Lol

The stuff works pretty good really and it does last, used to use it years ago when it 1st came out.

Well it seems to last which is a plus.

Gloss wise how does it compare to Meguiar's Ultimate Wax? Which is also a sealant and and an OTC product as well

Well NuFinish is around $10 and Meguiars Ultimate Wax is around $20.

So if your looking to save $10 NuFinish seems like an option :dunno:

:)

IMO:

-NuFinish would probably be best classified as a Cleaner/Sealant.

-Meguiar's Ultimate Wax would probably best be classified as a Finishing Sealant.
By all accounts: It should look "glossier". But for how long?

:)

One thing about NuFinish is thet it dries white in all the cracks , and you have to be very careful around plastic because it stains .

So does Collinite 476s that's why I prefer to use Menzerna power lock or Meguiar's Ultimate Wax

...I had DG 501/601 dry white in the micro cracks of the plastic painted rain guards on top of a Buick Regal. They were already in bad shape, but they weren't white until I used DG on them. In about 3 months time they had turned completely white...from a deep/dark blue. The NuFinish would have probably dried white just the same. Just sayin'...

My dad used this stuff when I was a kid about 20-25 years ago. It does the job but it dusts a lot and the looks are just ok. They made a name for themselves because it lasted much longer than waxes and beads well. Both claims are true. However, there are much better products today available at AG. Todays sealants look almost as good as wax. I just bought blackfire tps aio bogo . That comes out to 10 bucks each and there is no comparison.

Nu Finish is fairly easy to use, just stay away from black trim and readily available. I have seen it on sale for 5-6 bucks and I remember when it was only 1.99.

Thanks for the roll down memory lane.

Interesting, Bob. Didn't see this before the pm.

That's what I was gonna say. I like the stuff for it's durability, ease of use and all that but you have to be super careful around trims and plastics so I stopped using it because I don't want to have to mask the entire car for apply a sealant.
