So I found this guy he basically said,

"I have 7 XL crates of wax. Moving to a smaller place and no where to store them anymore. Classic Hip-Hop, Reggae, Soca, Go-Go, and R&B. $95 and take em off my hands"

he got stack of them I mean a whole bunch of records selling for the low. I do not know other than why he selling them but does he knows about old vinyl records? Why would he sell them cheap?

I was thinking of buying it from him for $70 going tru them to see if I find at least one golden record worth more than what I paid for them.

I really dont know much about old vinyl records so what should i look for when i go see them?

Other than 12" are the longest one to be played?

LP records, as they were known, can have up to 25 minutes per side. Total for both sides was generally 45 minutes but could go to 50. You could have a half speed mastered edition which, depending on the artist, could be worth a great deal.

But do you think is worth buying all those boxes of records for less than $100, I mean I already knowin order to see if I can make my money back and maybe even more (to invest in to auto detail :props:) I would have to go tru all of them. My fear is not finding something to make my 70 back lol

How many are you talking about? Frankly the investment is small even if it bombs. Seeing as how many could be antiques (technically they all are) it sounds like an E-Bay delight to me.

I have a bunch of old,old 45's and have wondered what they might be worth. I have never looked into it but I do know that the very good condition Beatles White Album that I have, if it still had the poster would be somewhere in the value range of over $1000. If you got the space to have them and the time to market them, I say go for it.

Yeah right :props: He could surely get $1 each for them and eventually make his money back. If you would pay $70 for a tub of wax I say what's the big deal? It clearly caught your interest and the good things in life are following your interests so why not?

If you are looking for a quick turnaround then consider passing on it. It will take time to recoup and make some money. I had some half speed mastered discs MANY years ago that I sold for a buck to raise money in order to travel the country. Some of those now are worth $2500 and more. Had I only known:(.

EDIT: Now that I see the picture I'd buy them sight unseen were it not for the extreme shipping costs.

If I can make the $70 back quick then I am fine, I do know a lot of guys that are DJs maybe they would be interested in some of them. I am willing to take the time and go tru them and get them in order to start searching for every single one of them. I also notice in the picture he has more records than the ones he are selling

Being in radio for almost 40 years and having had thousands of albums and having to move about every 2 1/2 years, lugging those albums around can be a chore. I hope you don't move very often.

Whoa! If you're talking the ones from Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab, then I got like two dozen down in the basement. Supertramp, Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd, Al Stewart, Steely Dan, etc come to mind. Perhaps I'm sitting on a gold mine?!?!

Something to remember about vinyl, it needs to be in premo condition, no pops, crackle and cue burns and the album cover needs to be in perfect condition to to make any sales. I can tell by looking at the pictures that those album covers are not in good condition. Do yourself a favor and pass on them.

I have about 6 times the amount in the pic. I used to DJ for parties and such. I have always wondered what I should do with them. I also still have my turntables and mixer too. The speakers are long gone.

You and me both... Still have my technique 1200's..... the turntables wobble but they don't fall down...
