So, I'm sitting at Dunkin' Donuts reading AG on my Iphone (now):

And the guy sitting in front of me with his kid (who is like 3 or 4) just said his kid eats shoe laces. He said his kid eats a whole shoe lace 4 or 5 times a week. He said it hasn't hurt him yet, so it's probably OK.

WTF?

Some form of pica?

Breakfast looks delish btw.

They (dad & son) are with two ladies. One said to dad "you may wanna ask the Dr about that". Then she looked at the other lady and said "what do you think?".

Lady #2 just shrugged her shoulders.

OMG. Child protective services get over to the DD in Limerick PA

Now the kid says "there is a bear in my stomach, and I'm feeding shoelaces to the bear". The dad says nothing.

Um, how about you stop letting your kid eat shoe laces??????
Some people should not be parents :bash:

H-m-m-m. Pica. Some people eat shoelaces, some eat dirt, some eat glass, some eat.....; no telling what a person with Pica will eat. You have to watch them every second; literally.

I know of a person with Lesh-Nigh (sp) Syndrome. They had to pull his teeth because he chewed off parts of his own tongue and lips. Different than Pica, but he would chew off parts of himself that he could reach with his mouth. Has to do with pleasure/pain thing. And he was under doctor's order for restraints.

umm...okay. This is like American Horror Story type stuff.

I'm familiar with Lesch–Nyhan syndrome. Although, I've never known anyone who has it. Another interesting thing about Lesch–Nyhan syndrome is that sufferers poop out orange crystals of uric acid that looks like sand.

This sounds like an episode of "Addiction"

Like eating detergent or kitty litter...

What is the name of the disease that makes me want to eat cake and ice cream all the time?

Munchies !!! :hungry:

That looks like some good breakfast!!! We don't have any Dunkin Doughnuts where I live. I especially liked the can of cope next to the breakfast!!!!!
