Can ONR be used as a WW?

Anyone use it this way?

If Yes, at what dilution ratio?

I wouldn't use it as a waterless. ONR was designed for specific dilution ratios, none of which is for a waterless wash. I've tried it at stronger than recommended ratio for QD purposes but had streaks. If you want to stay within the ONR family, Optimum makes a separate waterless product.

8oz per gallon for WW? That's QD strength. I'd use that for very light dust, presoak before a rinseless or spot cleaning. Nothing close to a WW. But that's just me. To the OP, use your best judgment.

1. for the last 2 years I am always doing a self-directed power wash prior to a traditional/r/w wash. forgot to mention that.

2. i have ver 1, 2, 3 of ONR that i want to use up. winter is upon us in NE and no better time of year to use it up.

3. i have the same question out to Meguiars regarding their D114 RW. have not heard from them yet. will post their reply.

Blade: Chris Thomas from Optimum Dist said that you can use ONR as a WW (undocumented) at 8oz per 1 gallon as a WW which is = the QD ratio. Which version of ONR did you use and at what dilution?

FUNX725: Thanks for the links. Highly informative.

jmsc, I normally use ONR and ONRWW as a rinseless wash but just used ultima waterless wash for the first time yesterday. I understand you wanting to use your stash, but ultima waterless is a treat compared to the former when used as a waterless. Ultima is ten times slicker, IMO. My two cents...

Big fan of onr but it works best as a rinseless.

I prefer ultima waterless.

QDs/Waterless-Washes: One and the same? Myth?

Being that so many Quick Detail (QD) Sprays often contain >90% water...
Why would it be so surprising to see that ONR mixed @ the "waterless-wash/QD dilution ratio", just means that 93.75% of the solution is water?

Oh my god yes. I was having this discussion with my buddy today and with a little bit of reasoning realized this.

I also see it as:
One less detailing-stressor to ever
have to worry about again.

I tried ONR as a WW almost 3 years ago. At that time there was a big difference compared to UWW+. And as of late Pinnacle WW+C is on-par with UWW+.

ONR is a rinseless, a very light QD and a Clay Lube. That's it.

I like the way you're thinking - I am of the same opinion. :xyxthumbs:

It can be used as a waterless in a pinch but isn't very good. It is by far the best rinseless wash but there are much better waterless washes out there.

Check this out; for the past three days, I have been spraying my vehicle with a hand-pump pressure sprayer mixed with water & DG's 901 (2 cap fulls/ 1.5 gl H2O) to just keep the crud off, mostly. But this has me thinking, why couldn't some car soap dilluted to the right spec be just as effective as a marketed waterless wash?
I think it could work the same. Maybe someone who lives in a warmer climate w/ dark paint could try this and see how it works. My car is in NE Ohio and it's silver, so it's hard to tell if it's streaking or anything like that.

Oh yes... my son and I have been victimized more than once by puddles of UWW+ left on the garage floor which is smooth concrete. I wasn't done washing, normally I'd clean up ASAP. Those little UWW+ puddles are slippery as heck, it will startle you, be careful. Can't say the same for ONR @ QD ratio.

ONR is best at rinseless and clay lube. IMHO.

This is possible IMO.
