Anybody had any problems using ONR as a clay lube?

I have V2 of ONR and have been using it for the last two details I've done but am having a problem with my Griot's paint clay getting MUCH softer and gooey when using ONR than I recall it ever being using the cheap Megs Quick Detailer. It's to the point where the clay sticks to my gloves in a thick layer, not just smudges here and there.

I tried using the old ONR as a clay lube. It wasn't horrible and I don't think it made the clay soft. I liked the quik detailer you're talking about better though.

I don't think it's the ONR. Try soaking it in some cold water before you use it.

I've heard of that issue with Griots clay being too soft before, which is what made me buy it actually. I use it for my winter prep details because it stays soft in the colder weather.

Might not want to use it when it's 85 degrees out though...

I actually have the opposite result. There is once I work with a very soft paint. The meg's detailer and clay combo just marred the paint like crazy. then I switched to ONR lube, then, no longer marring. From then on my clay work completely sticks to ONR lube, and I have meg's quick detailers piled up.

This may be the only place where someone can come right out and say that "lube is making their clay too soft" without causing a ruckus.

Griot's clay is soft right out of the canister...much softer than Meguiar's clay.
