Never needed more than 2oz or 50ml per car.
How do you accomplish this? And what product are you using?
Never needed more than 2oz or 50ml per car.
If you are changing out pads (3-4) as you should, 2oz is not enough compound for a car much less a truck.
Lots of variables with that one. Product(s) being used, condition of paint, hardness, pad size, type, ect, etc.....
I typically use 2oz or less on 6" MF pads (3 of 'em at least) You don't want to oversaturate with product.
Good Luck! :buffing:

Maybe about 3 ounces or less for me. After the initial prime on the pad just a few drops to continue. I will say i might use more when i grab M105 and use the KBM! I also use more pads than most as i like to grab a fresh, clean pad about every 2-3 panels. That means priming the new pad and continuing around the vehicle but i have come to appreciate using the "right" amount on each section and not using too much. Gunks up the pad prematurely like Firehouse Mike said. Get in the habit of feeling your pad as you work around the vehicle. You can tell when its moist with residual product.
I'm sure there's an average if all other factors are average.
My guess would be at least 8 ounces for a full size truck. Maybe 12 ounces. It's been a while since I measured but here's an article I wrote on this topic where I did measure the weight of a bottle before and after buffing out a car that has about as much square footage as a truck.
How much Menzerna FG 400 to buff out a car?
